"I might have given this app only 4 stars, but then I discovered, buried within the settings, that the developer explains in great detail what EACH AND EVERY permission is for! (For those who were wondering, the Fine (GPS) Location permission is for finding your current time zone in situations when your network location isn't available (and this can be disabled), while the Internet Access permission is for looking up locations not in the internal database and for downloading the optional satellite map."

So I was pleased to find Camp Finder, an app that identifies those rustic little NF campgrounds, half a mile off the highway on a gravel road. To find a campground, you can either enter city/state and be rewarded with a list of private and public campgrounds in the vicinity. Look up a campground and you'll find, among other things: - A phone number (in the case of a federal campground, to the nearest NFS office), - A website (in the case of NF campgrounds, it's the federal website), - User reviews, - User-posted pictures, and of course.... - Directions, both in the form of a GPS map, and printed instructions, right to the entrance of your campground. I was rewarded with a list of a dozen nearby campgrounds, including my favorite aspen-studded honey hole, fully 10 miles off the pavement and accessible by a gravel ranch road, and so obscure that the water pump in the campground hasn't worked for years, but the few people who go there don't care."
