Find Best Price at Amazon"Before I use any new cutting tool I sharpen it. I haven't had them long enough to say for sure how long they will last but I am pretty good to my carving tools. I work with a steel, a 10,000 grit stone and strop beside me and keep the edge even and smooth so I don't have to sharpen them very often by removing metal. Carbon steel is just better than any stainless steel that I've found yet for wood working. A sharpening steel just bends that edge back up on carbon steel where on stainless, if you don't do it often enough, it will break the edge off leaving the knife totally dull and in need of some serious grind time on coarser stones to reclaim the edge. Carbon steel is a giant plus for me and the blades are well shaped straight and smooth."

To address the complaints mentioned before: Thus far I haven't had a tip break on me and, although it does take a few minutes to heat up, the temperature control has been working perfectly (Or at least, it's been working - It's a yellow-orange-red scale so I'm not sure what the specific temperatures are supposed to be, but it's definitely hotter at red than it is at yellow). I think it could be improved by adding some sort of indicator to tell whether it's on or not, nothing too fancy, just a little LED would do fine, but, again, I'm happy with it."
