"Battery acid was everywhere and I was replacing the wet cell batteries every year. I have used that same old Red Top in two pick ups and one car, sold the cars but kept the battery for a spare cause it fits most applications and still starts most any car or pick up at 6 years old. Yea you'll need a deep cycle type maintenance free setting on your home battery charger, if you need to recharge Optima batteries. Wired in a Perko boat battery switch so I never have a dead battery. Yea you can do the same with wet cell batteries but they won't last as long and charge back up as easy as Optima batteries. Yes Optima batteries are about double the price of most replacement wet cell batteries, but well worth it."
