Find Best Price at Amazon"I used a cut off wheel and when I cut the heads of the 3 bolts on the back flange, the old catalytic converter fell off even though the flange joint also looked rusted together. I then bolted the new catalytic converter to the tail pipe, installed the O2 sensor from the original catalytic converter, and then re-installed it. My heat shield had a bolt hole in each of the four corners of the shield that attached to 4 holes in the seam around the original catalytic converter. Some comments say their heat shield is 2 pieces and it bolts to each other like a clam shell over the catalytic converter."
"My new cat came with both gaskets unlike some reviewers here, so I was pleasantly surprised. Went inside to eat and let the exhaust cool off; allow the penetrating oil to work. 3. took the o2 sensor off 1st while cat is still bolted on. 4. loosened 6 nuts (3 on each side). 5. used pry bar to remove cat. 6. tapped studs out of OEM cat to reuse in new one. 7. installed new cat in reverse order. 8. test drive. 9. beer time. Hope this helps."

"They're round hollow rings and are most likely rusted into their slots, one at the end of the flex pipe leading into the cat and one at the exit of the cat itself. Same with the bolts, the converter I replaced had the studs welded to it and could not be reused. I assume they tried to use the short one meant for the cat in the manifold."
