Find Best Price at Amazon"I'm pretty anal about my truck, after spending 30 years doing equipment maintenance, I've changed enough fuel pumps and found out the hard way about using aftermarket pumps. If you're going to sell the vehicle, then buy a cheapie aftermarket and brag to the prospective new owner that it has a new pump, but if you're going to keep it, spending extra might be good insurance. With about 123,000 miles on the truck the original pump was still working fine, the reason I had to replace it was because, up here in the Lake Ontario snow belt, one of the salt capitals of the US, the steel pipes coming from the pump were rusted through and fuel was pi**ing all over the place. Secondly, I have an Avalanche, for all you Avalanche/Suburban/Tahoe owners out there, take heed; since my problem was rust and not just a worn out pump, I knew beforehand what was going on when I had this big leak erupt. Pulling a fuel tank when the straps and hardware are all rusted while working upside down, even on a lift, isn't my idea of a picnic - been there, done that - many, many times. The pump was right there, everything in front of me, I could sit on a stool while disconnecting everything, all sorts of room to work, and, let me tell you, it took almost 2 solid hours of picking to extract the rotted out, now broken fuel pump pipes from those (expensive!). Oh, one last thing, how cheap are they when, after spending this kind of money, they can't even include new fuel line O-rings and the damn plastic clips that retain them? It's right on top so if I had done the old method of pulling the tank to change the pump I would've found myself pulling it again to change this!! Within a couple hours they wrote back and gave me these options; I can return the entire pump module for a full refund (plus shipping), or they'd send a replacement."
