Wagan (EL6224) 12V Cooler/Warmer - 24L Capacity
Easy to use; simply plug the 12v adapter into your vehicle's 12v DC outlet and slide the switch on the back of the cooler to either hot or cold. If cold setting is selected, then anything inside will stay cool and reach a maximum of 32 Degree-36 Degree Fahrenheit below room temperature. The 7.5 feet DC power cord is long enough to extend to your vehicle's back seat area, so the cooler can be easily accessible for anyone sitting in the back of your vehicle. 2 temperature settings: cool up to 32 Degree - 36 Degree Fahrenheit below room temperature, or warm up to 140 Degree Fahrenheit; its hot/cold/off switch has indicator lights and is on the back of the unit.

"I purchased this as a gift for a relative and tested it when it arrived."
"I just returned from a 3 week trip across the U.S. For this purpose, I purchased this cooler (have not used it as a warmer) for around 90 dollars. This allowed for the cooler to fit, for me to open the lid and to swivel the very well built carrying handle out of the way. I don't have any major complaints with the function, design, weight and space with this cooler. Finally, the unit comes with a spare fuse which I hope it is available in a local hardware store."
"It's not detachable and the storage space for it very light and the locking mechanism broke off in under a week."
"I had this cooler plugged it for a drive from Las Vegas to San Francisco, left it overnight unplugged in the car and the next day my drinks were STILL cool. If I start with chilled drinks and a couple frozen bottles of water in the cooler, I am able to keep the drinks nicely chilled even through a southwest summer day with an outside temperature of 110oF (ulgh.). As other reviewers mentioned, it's nice that the cooling fan is located on the top instead of on the sides where they might overheat, but it does mean that it blows hot air out to whoever's sitting near the cooler. There's an adapter you can buy to bring the cooler into a hotel room to plug in overnight -- it would have been nice if that was part of this cooler (with a storage compartment for that too.)."
"His only complaint is how large it is - but it is solid, well constructed and obviously keeps his food warm."
"so far so good.. does the job (~:"
"Works in cool temps."
"Perfect size and works great."

"When I got it I experimented with putting 6 cans of beer at room temp. in the cooler and leaving it overnight to see how cold they would be in the morning (not that I was planning to DRINK them in the morning, I just figured that beer would be something that is actually important to serve cold, not warm). I SHOULD have noticed it because when in "cooler" mode the fan is on, the fan does not run in "warmer" mode. While this test obviously failed the "can it chill room temperature beer test," I did discover a few things. One, the "warmer" mode works really well and will warm up your beer so much that it will explode out of the cans while they are still in the cooler and make a great big mess. Four, hot beer makes a nasty breakfast drink, For the second "can it chill room temperature beer test" I made sure that it was in "cooler" mode, which is easy to do by ensuring you can hear the fan running. Because keeping beer cold is so enjoyable, I also conducted a test where the 6 cans were started at refrigerator temperature and remained nicely so after a night on the "cooler" setting. Here are some tips to success with this cooler (from my experience, you don't need any tips to make this work well as a warmer). It would probably make more sense to have the cooling element on the TOP so that the coldness would come down onto the beer, or food. To improve the efficiency, I always place a napkin or plastic bag over the top of the beer, or food, to make the cooling area smaller and more isolated. So using ice (or probably better to use Blue Ice or similar) should help to keep things colder in warmer outside temperatures and/or lengthen the effective cooling time of the ice or ice substitute. I'm using some ice packs on my next long usage, even if that means I can only fit in 5 cans of beer at a time (actually, it does hold 9 regular cans just fine, but just in case you want to also have some food). MAKE SURE IT'S ON "COOLER" MODE!!! If you don't, it won't work as a cooler, and may in fact actually be on "warmer" mode, which might be bad! There is no fan for the "warmer" mode and you would never know it's on until you start hearing your beer cans explode in the middle of the night and wonder what the heck that strange sound is and where it is coming from and why your room smells like a dive bar. The "cooler" mode needs the fan to blow the hot air away from the heat sink. Of course, food weighs less than beer, so I can't say that the results would have been the same had it been loaded with beer."
"cut the 2 black and red wires from the old fan, cut it near the fan so you have longer wires, on the 120mm fan theres 3 wires, it has an extra yellow wire, probably to sense the rpm on the motherboard, just don't use it. here are the pics: instructions theres 4 philips screws on the side housing, remove them, cut wires on old fan, use + and - on new fan and splice into wires into the cooler, red to red, black to black. the old fan is mounted to the housing via 4 philips screws but its hard to get to, use a skinny philips screwdriver and use wire cutters/ lexan scicors, etc to cut off the 4 corners at the top of the old fan so your screwdriver and unscrew it at a more vertical angle."
"It does get too cold and freeze things so be aware of that!"
"I bought one almost 2 years ago and it worked perfect most of the time."
"It will drain your car battery but it keeps your drinks really cold or hot whichever setting you prefer."
"It will maintain a cool temperature or a warm one, depending on the setting."
"The fan that comes on sounds similar to the volume of a laptop or desktop, unless you are super picky you'll never notice it while youre driving with music or road noise."
"Sad to say, although it seem as a promising product it only works to keep things cool, the warming is no use at all."

"We just got back from a 2 week road trip with the ARB as our only cooler. I did order the canvas travel bag for the ARB, and think it was a good investment, more on that later. - After about 8-9 days of camping (without consistent sunlight for the solar panel), the ARB ran down the Goal Zero Yeti's voltage to where it didn't have enough voltage to start the compressor. I bought the canvas travel bag and cut double thick reflectix (foil lined insulation) to go inside the canvas travel bag. See the attached pics to get an idea of how I added extra insulation to the ARB travel bag. For longer trips (we are doing a month long road trip next summer through western Colorado), I plan on chaining in a second 100ah battery to the Goal Zero, primarily for running the ARB for long term off grid use."
"I travel 6-7 months a year working nuclear plants, many times living in hotels 5-8 weeks at a time. On a recent work trip to Florida I carried many frozen items with me and brought 20 pounds of fresh caught frozen fish back home."
"I was off on a 3,000 road trip to mining territory and visit family in Sierras, Nevada, Idaho, Yellowstone, Grand Tetons, back down the middle of no-where Nevada, June Lake CA, then home. If you have a tonneau, it can't even fall over in a hard turn as the cover prevents the fridge from tilting. If planning your trip chill your water and food overnight in your regular fridge first, Then load up when ready to go."
"Works just as expected."
"Great Quality!"
"Can't say enough about the ARB fridge."

"It really gets old eating fast food while out on the road.I'm a trucker and thats all they have in most travel centers. On Christmas my girlfriend got me this, and its the best gift I could have gotten. This is a tackle box stove, and its mainly a food warmer. This will get pretty hot also, and after plugged in for only 10 minutes the bottom plate has plenty of heat.I can pull into a rest area, throw some hot pockets or burritos in it.Then head down the road and then pull over and have lunch in about an hour. This stove saves me a whole lot of money as well,as i really don't have a need to eat out when I'm on the road.In the morning i can put some sausage biscuits in it and in 30 min."
"I bought this in the event I travel (rare) or for power outages at my house (just run out to the van to cook instead.). Depending on your model car and what else is on the same circuit your cigarette lighter receptacle is on, don't be surprised if it pops a fuse. Since it seals pretty well, that moisture will stay trapped and I can imagine mildew or bacteria forming. I bent the tabs straight up, then pinched in the sides of the pan so that that lip doesn't prevent the oven from closing. This is better than the disposable foil loaf pans, as it is bigger, has a flatter bottom (conducts heat better), is more durable and easier to clean. You could probably cut the lip off the pan, but I would imagine that would leave VERY sharp edges and may expose bare metal that could rust."
"They leave early & want a hot breakfast sandwich, but are not ready to eat first thing in the morning. I make bagel sandwiches (egg, sausage or whatever) for the week & freeze them wrapped in parchment or freezer paper & foil (complaints that the foil in direct contact w/the food left a tinny taste). This unit fits two large bagel sandwiches perfectly and heats them from frozen in just over an hour, turning them once about half way."
"My husband a truck driver, had been eating cold canned food when stuck at a location for the night with no microwave."
"This little hot box will heat up nicely in 15 minutes."
