I don't think there's anything special about the bank itself (by the way, it has held up perfectly - I was afraid the rubber band would lose its elasticity over time, but it still holds the pieces together strongly), but the system is solid, and one of the aspects of parenting that I actually feel like I'm doing right. She has used her "spending" money to buy stuffed animals at the zoo (which are super overpriced - but now I don't worry about it, that's for her to figure out! I didn't know if 4 was too young (she just turned 4), but she understood immediately that she needs to start holding onto money so that she can buy a stuffed animal flamingo at the zoo. I debated whether or not I wanted to have this be a part of our routine - money as a reward, learning how to save/spend/etc. I intend to wait until she has a decent amount saved up, then open a bank account where we can deposit it, and use the "share" money on a charity of her choice."

When warmed (as with the body heat of your baby), the amber releases the succinic acid which passes trans-dermally into the blood stream where it acts as an analgesic. But then I remembered when I worked at a jewelry store and couple years back, amber does in fact feel similar to plastic. I got my acetone nail Polish and poured a teaspoon full over several beads and even let it soak for a bit. Plastic and glass will sink in salt water, whereas real Baltic amber floats. The only reason I have to give 4 stars instead of 5 is because the necklace could become a safety hazard if not properly managed and supervised by people. If you're in a hurry, the summary of this review is that this camera and monitor are great and the customer service provided by the company is outstanding (see below). So stop hunting and trying to weigh all the baby camera/monitor reviews and get this camera and monitor if it provides you with all the features you want. We also felt we didn't want a system that sent our image feed off to some remote server where it would be stored for some period of time for whatever analytics that the company performed. We wrote an email to Infant Optics explaining the situation and hoping for a repair or replacement. This is the type of costumer service that actually makes you happy and reaffirms that the Infant Optics camera and monitor was the right choice for our family. It works great and it is backed up by outstanding customer service that provides peace of mind all new parents should be afforded."
"The mommy-to-be and I wanted to test both of these units side-by-side to see how they compared to each other. Samsung initially seemed like the better choice as it had the 5” screen compared to the DXR-8’s screen of only 3.5” The Samsung also had music playback on the camera in the baby’s room (4 different lullaby song choices), and a small night light on the top of the camera (which you can turn on and off). The Samsung’s touch screen is far different than the touch screen on their cell phones, their touch screen has little sensors throughout that you can see if you look at it closely."
