I'm not an electrical engineer, so I may be incorrect, but looking at the circuit board, it all appears very basic and I don't see anything that would regulate the charging or stop the battery from overcharging. So, if you are like me and you keep this plugged in charging all the time, you are likely going to burn out the battery quite quickly, which is why the majority of the long term reviews complain about poor longevity. While this unit is cheap, if you're concerned about longevity, I'd recommend looking at a different trimmer that will have a better reachable battery system."

"I don't know what has happened at Braun and the production of these replacement foils, but I've had a horrible time with the last 4 purchased. The last one I purchased here on Amazon - after 3 months the foil cutter part separated from the razor as you can see in the attacked picture. The previous ones you used to get were in the strong plastic packaging that protected and secured the foil cutter so it couldn't get smashed or easily stolen. The lack of recognizing the failure of their foil cutters is the quality control problem they need to rectify quickly and before they continue to loose customers!"
