"I am including a video so you can sort of see the depth and involvement this brings. Types of dinos, Carnivores, Herbivores, Feathered, Armored, Biggest etc. He wants it read as a bedtime story but there is so much info you could prob do 1 page per night and extend it out."
"I have to read the book to my four-year-old. It costs more than most 12-page books. We bought the Encyclopedia Prehistorica Dinosaurs because we like to give each of our boys a good book for Christmas each year. We give them the book on Christmas Eve so we can sit quietly as a family and read the evening before Krampus comes to destroy us all. Bucky just turned four, and as a helicopter parent, I feel like I still need to hover over him when he’s reading the book so he closes all the pop-ups and doesn’t smash them. Anyway, I strongly recommend this book if you have a youngster in your life who is interested in dinosaurs, pop-up books, and the inevitable decline of man."
"I'd say that the reading level is fairly advanced - maybe 4th grade, but even at such a young age, my son gets a kick out of the animals and tries to rip their tail off or whatever."
"He went through every page & opened every flap to tell us all about the dinosaurs he was seeing."
"He is so enthralled with the dynamic of this book and encourages him to be inquisitive and learn about things they aren't teaching in daycare."
"Unfortunately he's a weapon of mass destruction so the book stays out of his reach, but I was amazed at the quality and just how many pop-ups there are in this book!"
"It’s very delicate in some places so it’s a great book for adults to read to smaller kids."
"My two year old son is obsessed with dinosaurs so this is his favorite book."

"Pros: the book came earlier than expected. very informative. exactly like it looks in the picture. got it cheaper than retail price. Cons: I don't know if the paper cover on the outside was damaged because of the box and shipment or if the seller left it like that, but that was the only downer."

Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat: Mastering the Elements of Good Cooking
New York Times Bestseller. Named one of the Best Books of 2017 by NPR, Buzzfeed, The. Atlantic , The. Washington Post , Chicago Tribune , Rachel Ray Every Day , San Francisco Chronicle , Vice Munchies, Elle.com, Glamour , Eater, Newsday, Minneapolis Star Tribune , The Seattle Times , Tampa Bay Times , Tasting Table, Modern Farmer , Publishers Weekly, and more. Refer to the canon of 100 essential recipes—and dozens of variations—to put the lessons into practice and make bright, balanced vinaigrettes, perfectly caramelized roast vegetables, tender braised meats, and light, flaky pastry doughs. "Just reading Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat will make you a better cook, adept at seasoning, balancing, understanding what it really is you’re doing and why... Make room on the bedside table—and the countertop." "My favorite metacookbook...[Nosrat] offers a beautifully simple checklist for ensuring a dish ends up in a good place...This is the book of cooking grammar that so many novices would benefit from... Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat is written smoothly and casually, and kept breezy via charming watercolors by the perceptive Bay Area artist Wendy MacNaughton...Nosrat’s book would be of value both to people who don’t consider themselves cooks and to people actively striving to become better ones." "A cookbook that will make you a better cook...with helpful, charming illustrations from artist Wendy MacNaughton." Samin Nosrat just published “Salt Fat Acid Heat — Mastering the Elements of Good Cooking” and I daresay this one is essential...That’s the fabulous thing about this book — it teaches readers about cooking, how to employ various techniques, and how to grasp that any subtle variations in technique can have significant impacts upon our end results. It is possible to learn how to cook great food...This book is bound to become an indispensable addition to cookbook shelves throughout America." "Nosrat’s beautiful, approachable book demonstrates how these four are the only elements necessary to make delicious meals anywhere, any time."
Reviews
"Best text about cooking I've ever read."
"I've always loved the "why" in cooking and baking (like the Cooks Illustrated approach and The Food Lab: Better Home Cooking Through Science) - but I love that she narrows it down to four basic elements. But this books and others, like Ratio: The Simple Codes Behind the Craft of Everyday Cooking are important because they give you the tools to innovate and recipes become starting points. I wish I had this book 20 years ago when I started seriously cooking."
"I love the fold out on p. 193 "what should I cook" that advises to go back and read the book through before you practice...a brilliant observation that the book is about "the journey, not the destination" as are so many things we pursue and experience."
"This cookbook goes into detail about how the four elements, salt, fat, acid and heat, are used to create great dishes!"
"Not a collection of recipes, though the book does contain recipes, but a clear, thoughtful and good humored explanation of the major elements of cooking -- salt, fat, acid and heat."
"Colorful doodles keep you engaged and having fun while learning, as well as a helpful guide on what to always have stocked in terms of spices and bare necessity kitchen utensils."

The Eighty-Dollar Champion: Snowman, The Horse That Inspired a Nation
#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER Harry de Leyer first saw the horse he would name Snowman on a truck bound for the slaughterhouse. A writer is always on the lookout for a good story, but the first time I saw a striking old photograph, I didn’t realize that I had stumbled across a tale so extraordinary that it had the power to change lives. The first time we spoke, Harry told me a story that gave me butterflies in my stomach and made my palms sweat--that’s how badly I wanted to write about what he’d said to me and share it with the world. That moment, when the pair of them stood under the spotlights of Madison Square Garden and listened to the thunder of the crowd, was simply unforgettable--the kind of triumph that ripples forward through time.
Reviews
"I GOT A LITTLE BOGGED DOWN IN SOME OF THE "DETAILS" AT THE BEGINNING OF THE BOOK, BUT THEY TRULY SAVE YOU THE STAGING FOR UNDERSTANDING HOW TRULY UNBELIEVABLE AND WONDERFUL SNOWMAN'S STORY IS."
"One feels as if you're right there with Snowman.... as he's found on the butcher's truck, then as a school horse, then sold down the road... and his yearning to be back with the man who was his "master" and the big family."
"If you like true stories this one is for you."
"Along came a man needing a horse He could afford.....spending all his cash on an animal in a truck, whose eyes still showed a spark for life, while the others had already given up."
"A nearly heartbreaking start that turns into a marvelous real world example of a champion arising from the ashes."
"The flying Dutchman was a phrase I remember, but did not associate it with Harry and Snowman. It is one I will long remember the young man from Holland and this eighty dollar horse."
"Harry's wife kept meticulous financial records, cleaned their homes perfectly, took care of the six children, making sure that each was always dressed in clean, ironed clothes, and in her spare time, she and the children went out to the family stable, cleaned stalls, groomed, fed and watered the horses. The close-knit family was always scrapped for cash, but they did everything together and one gets the sense of how loving they were and how harmonious their family life was. What happened to all those adoring children and the sweetest, most devoted wonderful wife?"
"Harry de Leyter was a poor Dutch immigrant farmer and even $80.- was a lot of money when he saved that horse from the slaughterhouse.. Then at one point he realizes that this horse is a born jumper and starts training him and slowly he starts winning championships."

"While I am looking forward to reading volumes 2-4, I feel that this one book gives enough to get out there and start making bows. In any case, I feel this is a solid guide book that allows the interested reader to also use it as a guide to making bows or as a book to read cover to cover."
"Good read a little unclear for those folks that don't know the traditional archery lingo."
"What is sorely lacking is an introduction which covers what self bows are, how they are made, etc before jumping into the fine details."

Reviews
"I was expecting something completely different, and I have to say, I was a little mislead by the reviews here. Cons: >Book is very thin. >Not set up in a way that would inform your child on a certain rock/gem that they have - I was expecting this book to be sort of a guide. It is more of a collage of information, bursting with images and text boxes scattered through out the pages."
"This is a beautiful book containing plenty of information about different types of rocks and how they are formed over many years."
"My kid was very interested in this."
"It has a lot of pictures for him to compare his rock collection to and it’s easy to read."
"My kids love to look at the pictures of different rocks and minerals."
"great info and pretty pictures."
"This was a great addition to the rock kits that I purchased for my children."
"Grandson loved it."

"The pictures are organized by insect biotype and refer to the page number where insect information is. Cons: One thing I wish this book had was more pictures at the front, since there were some insects I had never seen before and couldn't even find something similar in the book."
"This is a fascinating and helpful book!"
"A nice surprise for my husband."
"This has in almost every instance resulted in finding the desired identity.I don't carry it with me, but it looks durable enough to be put in my camera bag and have it survive a lot of handling."
"I have all of these series of field guides and even though they are older (somewhat out of date) these guides are great to me."
"All of the National Audubon books are wonderful and even a 4th or 5th grader can find information in them and understand what they are reading."
"It is hard to beat the Audubon field guides."
"Our family loves these books."

The Way Things Work Now
Famously packed with information on the inner workings of everything from windmills to Wi-Fi, this extraordinary and humorous book both guides readers through the fundamental principles of machines, and shows how the developments of the past are building the world of tomorrow. It is a very handsome book, a fascinating collection of riddles and a sound educational accomplishment that, while explaining in words and pictures - mostly pictures - some of the mysteries of physics, makes you smile, and often laugh. The author is honest enough to say that the book was intended for children of all ages, and brilliant enough to make all its readers feel brighter than they ever thought they could be.”— The New York Times “ The Way Things Work is not the only book that has tried to explain modern mysteries, but it's the best. “Keep the book a secret from your kids for a while and study up on the explanations of questions you're anticipating.
