Find Best Price at Amazon"I have spent years making do with poor tools, and this was a chance to do watch work more professionally, especially since I seemed to have some sawdust inside my wood watch that needed cleaning out. There was a selection of blunt-end tools for that, and one was the perfect size. =The back of the watch was held together via four tiny Phillips head screws; there were two Phillips screwdrivers that would work, and I used both of them. =The back needed to be unscrewed with a special adjustable tool and I used it. =Inside was a plastic movement holder that needed to be prized out; I used the prizing blade for that. =The movement was still held by the stem; I used the needle nosed pliers to hold the stem on the inside while I used my thumb and forefinger to unscrew the stem knob from the outside. =Now deeply inside the case, I used the tweezers (supplied) to gently lift the movement out of the case without getting skin oils all over it. =I used a lint free microfiber cleaning cloth to clean the crystal and the dial before reassembling everything in reverse order. =I did not use them, but there was a hammer and two tools for watch band replacement, flat blade screwdrivers, etc."

"So, I have bought and reviewed quite a few winders, ranging from Boxy to Wolf, always on the search to find something affordable yet of acceptable quality for my small watch collection, since, as I've said in other reviews, I'd rather spend money on watches, than winders. Well, for those who don't want to wade through the rest of this: The Good: Motor, Size, Price, Acceptable Appearance. The Not So Good: Watch Holder, Limited Movement Options. Summary: While superior to models priced at half the cost of this, this model is bested by similarly priced options, such as the Heiden Prestige (glass and solid wood construction, many more TPD options) and, for only twenty dollars more, is even more beaten by a choice such as the Boxy Castle (interior lighting, soft touch hinges, glass and solid wood construction). Be sure to check your movement requirements before buying, because options on this winder are limited. For me, I'm used to a winder that has one control for direction, and the other for TPD, giving the best range and combination of options that you can match up with the movement requirements of your watch (which you have to look up yourself, of course, either from an online database, like Orbita's, or from the watch manufacturer). So, yes, it has "eight" settings, in that the knob on the back has eight clicks to it, but it's actually fewer "true" settings: 1440 TPD either CW or CCW, either 5760 or 2152 TPD for both directions then CW, CCW or Both at 672 TPD. Fortunately, most movements today can't be overwound, so you can likely be safe to crank it up to the most TPD and keep your movement wound, but still, they would have done much better to separate rotation direction and rotation TPD, which is standard on more well-known brands. Even the cheapest Boxy, despite having only three TPD options, effectively gives you a true nine options, since each TPD setting is available for each directional setting. The Heiden models have even more options, again, by having one control to set direction, and a separate control to set TPD, giving you 15 TPD options at each direction of rotation. Whether or not that is problematic depends on the needs of your movement, of course, but do check into it before buying, otherwise you'll wonder why your watch eventually stops, even when in the winder. Like the Belocia brand, the high luster polish and wood finish make for a good looking piece of furniture, far superior, for example, to the ultra budget "plastic" Boxy (an effective winder, to be sure, but not great looking). I'm not giving five because I think the watch holder portion could certainly be better made and it seems obvious that rotation and turns per day each should have their own control, to broaden the range of settings. For my Deep Blue, with its Seiko movement, in consulting with Seiko they have said I can use as many TPD as I want, and any direction of motion, so I have no limitations in use and the pillow holds my watch fine, as you see in the attached photos. Wood construction (black or chestnut finish), glass lid, soft movement hinges, even interior lighting, and all of that in addition to a flawless motor, good holding mechanism and plenty of options for just about any watch movement on earth. As mentioned, please verify the needs of your movement before purchase, and, if your watch is large or heavy, you might want to consider a winder with a better holder than this one. But, if the limited settings are acceptable and your watch is lighter and around 42mm or so in size, then, especially if you are looking for a smaller sized winder that still looks good and does the job, I'd recommend it."
