The side pockets easily hold my either or both a 12oz or 16oz stainless steel water bottle, or my sunglasses. This pack nicely survived a two-week trip to Europe last month as my purse and daypack, as we traveled by bus and train. It carried all of my usual "purse" items as well as an extra shirt, socks, snacks, pill organizer, with room to add a few souvenirs. The other brand of similar backpacks were not as comfortable on me, and one had annoyingly loud material (I think that was the MCIRCO 20L). Both sizes fold back neatly into a little pouch, but frankly, I can't see me ever putting them away. I also bought an Outlander (33L) in Black for my husband to carry, but he didn't mind the dark purple color."

The fact that it easily folds up into its own pocket was very useful, as I only took a "personal item" sized bag with me on this trip and it didn't take up much room within. There are a few tears that did develop at the bottom due to the real rough ordeal I put it through, so we'll see how that lifetime warranty is."

I opted for a refund as I still would prefer a higher quality bag rather than get replacements for this one over and over, however if you are looking for a lighter weight light duty bag, this could be a nice mid-range price option. - The bag itself was really light weight. - It folds up to a fairly small size and conveniently zips up into itself for easy packing. - The straps were comfortable and solid and the chest strap was nice when the bag was heavy. - The "water resistant" fabric did help keep the contents dry-ish when it rained or on a boat. CONS. - The material was too thin and by the end of the trip, all be it a month long trip but one trip none the less, it was ripped in several places."

Find Best Price at Amazon"This bag has three compartments, one large one containing a fleece lined laptop sleeve, and ample room for books (I usually for two 2 inch binders in there with ease. Aside from the organizer there is a sizable space in this pocket for other items which on a busy day I use for my laptop charger, index card case, extra index cards and my lunch, which reduces the possibility of occasional lunch explosions from effecting my laptop and important schoolwork in the main pocket. The last of the three internal pockets is a small fleece lined one located towards the top of the front of the bag which is helpful and large enough for carrying your phone, Chapstick, and even a few other easy access items. Perhaps the best thing about this bag is both the highly stretchable and usable water bottle pockets on the sizes which I use for my large glass Camelbak and an umbrella in the second one on days of questionable weather. And last but not least it's amazing ability to minimize its weight on your shoulders, literally I have packed this thing to the brim to the point where it was difficult to even lift off the ground but whamo! If you have a relatively light course load or just don't need to carry around many books and such you'd probably be better off with the Vault, which I've seen many happy people walking around with on campus. They are so useful and visually appealing that I am even considering buying my brother (who is in his senior year of pursuing a mechanical engineering bachelors) confident that he will find whichever model I choose appealing and helpful in his studies, even as a similarly aesthetic based person as I am."
