But while walking down trade show isles and in the lab, this form factor is very useful. I want to take paper notes, transfer them automatically and have them finally ready for use on my phone and laptop. The Inkspace app that manages the communication with the pad stores all information and sends it to the cloud (luckily no one can read my handwriting). getting it on my laptop and download it as PDF is a manual step and requires Internet connection. If I have no access from my laptop and the ability to search my notes without relying on a cloud connection, this whole idea is great but not ready for prime time."
"Like another reviewer said, it was shipped with the label stuck directly on the sleeve of the product box. It looks chic and of good quality but I wish the writing surface was hard and smooth instead of being thin vinyl or whatever it is. Disappointing that I'll have to go from my nice 0.5 mm gel pen to it because I bought an expensive device! It came without any instructions but once I installed Inkspace on my iPhone (5s, which the Wacom web page says is compatible), it was easy to link it with the Slate. I didn't read the specs above carefully and didn't realize you have to make an online account and pay $2.99/month for the Inkspace Plus app to get the ink to text feature."

I used to use a dry erase board when I was working with him and a Boogie Board would be a great addition to our homeschool to save paper without having to mess with markers (that don't always erase as nicely as they should). "Whereas the Adonit is literally like a ball-in-socket joint and the plastic tip, although not common, can pop off the tip of the Adonit. Overall I LOVE these styluses, but the only thing I don't like about the MEKO is that when you're writing, because the tip is attached to the pen by a rubbery, flexible rod, the disc tip always goes back to the default position when you pick it up between letters. Since the Adonit is a metal rod with a ball on the end, and the ball is in the plastic disc, when the plastic disc is moved at an angle while writing it stays at that same angle when you pick up the pen, whereas the MEKO disc will immediately go back straight/perpendicular to the pen."

Find Best Price at Amazon"I've used the previous version of this trackpad for many years, and instantly leapt to buy one directly from Apple when they became available. I liked the previous model to the point where I bought copies for home, work, and my son's desk. This new trackpad has a convenient Lighting port which, if I am so inclined, I can just leave plugged in all the time. Apparently, Apple figures most Mac users will have plenty of Lightning cables attached to appropriate chargers on their desks. I assume that after many charge cycles and many years, the batteries will go bad and tethering will become the only mode available. This newer model has Force Touch, which is compelling, if your apps supports it and you can incorporate it into how your brain communicates with your computer. I have half a lifetime of muscle memory for using my thumb for clicking, but if I can unlearn it, it will make mousing much more fluid and quick. Unfortunately, there is a bug where the system stops honoring "Silent clicking," but disconnecting and reconnecting brings it back. It lies flatter and can be used on non-flat surfaces, unlike the older model whose mechanism was picky about where it would work. If you are a Mac developer and need to incorporate Force Touch in your software, run out and buy one. Otherwise, wait for more software supporting Force Touch, and for Apple to come to its senses and lower the price."

Once you turn it on, the device has a blue light in the front that blinks twice to ensure you it is powered on (see pictures). Looking at & holding the product doesnt give you the impression that it is cheaply made. The front of the device has a red light that turns on when the laser is being utilized to ensure you it is on."

"The red laser is powerful enough to still stand out in even the poorest lighting conditions for my presentations. I love how the USB dongle fits seamlessly into the chassis of the remote with a magnetic snap. The chassis of this remote has a curved bottom, which makes it delightful to hold, but the manufacturer even thought to form two tiny plastic pegs on the bottom to keep the remote level on a flat surface. Even the LED provides blue or red light feedback depending on whether you're using the function buttons or the laser pointer. Initially, I was frustrated at the prospect of forking out $15 for a techy gizmo when all I needed is a laser pointer that I can pickup at the hardware store for a couple bucks. I'd prefer to give my presentations on the newer machine, because that's where all of my resource files are, but always resort to my older Mac to take advantage of the remote. I wanted something where I could write and make videos right on the computer just like Khan. Students like to hear their teachers voice versus a stranger, and you can adjust your lesson to your book, notes, etc. I can bring up the PDF's of the homework or notes, snip the screen with the page on it, and write on it right on the computer while the students watch, take notes, etc. I also use this to write up the notes and make pages where students who were absent can get a copy of the notes online, as well as watch a video of the lesson."

Technical things I like: You can hover a decent distance over the tablet and it will still move the cursor ( again, i had a bad tablet that only let me hover a 1/4 inch). All buttons on the tablet and pen are super easy to map. Technical things that are kind of meh : Occasionally the pen draws out a dot of full pressure."
