"Here's how to tell if yours is genuine: 1) confirm the box looks like the one shown in photo 2) check that the packing tape is not tampered with 3) on the outside of the box, look for a security hologram sticker with a QR code on it (about the size of a postage stamp) 4) use a QR code reader app on your smart phone which will display a Brother web page that confirms the cartridge is genuine -- the web page also gives tips on how to confirm that the security hologram is genuine. 2) Be sure to follow the step where you slide the little green button back and forth several times to clean the drum -- ALSO when you are finished sliding the green button, return it all the way back to the "home" position until it CLICKS into place."
