Find Best Price at Amazon"As a computer technician here are my thoughts: First , the kind of dust you find in a computer cannot be easily vacuumed up by any vacuum cleaner (except for dust bunnies). I would say the blower is probably more powerful than a can of air but maybe not as powerful as the ED-500 although I don't know for sure because I've never tried the ED-500. I blew out a computer I thought was pretty clean and I got the same "clouds" of dust out of it (don't do this indoors). One thing I wanted to mention: I see a lot of videos where people blow out power supplies CPU fans, etc. What happens is the air is strong enough to over-rev the bearings in the fan and it will lead to premature failure of the fan or even immediate failure (i.e. your fan will start making strange noises right after you are done cleaning it) The proper way to clean a cpu fan, power supply fan, or anything else with a fan is to stick a plastic zip-tie, straw, or any other straight piece of plastic in the blades to block them from spinning while you blow the fan clean."
"Ok, well I think the blowing function is a bit stronger than it's vacuuming ability, but I mostly use the vacuum for my car's floor mats and tight places in my bathroom floor & bedroom...not as my main vac. I also blew out the brushes and bottom intake and it made my upright vacuum work like brand new again!This was so much easier than trying to shake the thing vigorously and ram broomsticks throught the hoses in order to clean my upright vacuum out. Covering the pinhole increases blowing & suction speed/force, but builds up the heat in the unit."

Find Best Price at Amazon"Unlike expensive air cans which become cold and loose their power after a few minutes of use, the Electric Duster blows hard as long as you need it to. Some of the cons to using this instead of a vacuum is the fact you will need to take the PC outside to blow it out otherwise dust will go everywhere (you will not believe how much dust comes out of some of them, easily 10 times more than a normal compressed air can would blow out). A vacuum will do a good job at cleaning the PC, but the force of the air stream from the Electric Duster is very powerful and reaches cracks and crevasses to blow out dust in places I didn't even knew existed! Versus compressed air, aside from the massive savings, you also have no problem turning the Electric Duster upside down or at any angle to position it - compressed air cans will blow ice out if you turn them upside down. Finally, the Electric Duster is environmentally friendly compared to compressed air cans or even Vacuums which you have to throw away the bags etc. While the Electric Duster is a bit pricey for people who only need an air can every now and then, for those of you who buy a lot of compressed air, or need something a lot stronger, this is a must have replacement. IMPORTANT NOTE: There is another listing for this product on Amazon: Metro Vacuum ED500P DataVac 500-Watt, .75-HP Electric Duster. As for comments about spinning fans to fast... To this day I have never damaged a fan, use common sense and don't spin the fan too fast or for a long time, or hold it with a plastic object (a plastic ink pen with the ink pulled out), and if you are blowing air through a fan be sure to blow it in the direction the air would normally flow through the fan so you don't shoot dust into the fan bearings etc."
