Summary - I have used several different jump drives which incorporate USB and Lightning connectors and this one is proving to be very reliable and fast. As with every single type of flash drive I have tried, the software (app) you need to install on you iphone is not the easiest to use or navigate. The directions provided are nice and detailed which was a nice plus, but the app itself is just a little cumbersome and requires you to jump between menus and settings to get what you need to done. I really cannot blame the drive though as these types of jump drives rely on apps needed due to iphone system structure and security. There really is no way around using the apps that come with the drives to get what you need to do. USB 3.0 will always be slightly faster than lightning connector for these type of drives."
"However, when I plug the USB plug on the device into my iMac and open the file, it doesn't show any contents and what I really wanted the device to do was to store photos from the iPad and and iPhone in order to be able to transfer them to the iMac. If not for the fact that it required extensive effort on my part to get the device to function as advertised, I would probably rate it 5 stars, but I felt their instructions were inadequate for a non-techie like me when a very specific, 5 - 7 steps, simple operating procedure would have done the job."

"Update May 25th, 2017: I interacted with the company support via email when my adapter would not read my brand new Samsung 128 gig card. I could put the card in the shipped SD adapter and my SurfaceBook would read it just fine. They agreed it sounded defective and sent me a replacement, and asked me to send mine back so they could run tests on it. I looked carefully at the outside gold contacts on the adapter and there was a slight blemish you would expect if you plugged it into a card slot. My file copies onto the card are very fast, in the range of about 70 megabytes a second. I'll be using the space as a backup location for my files / code / documents. Using this with a big enough card as your removable backup will safety net for when that happens. Note that there are absolutely no quality control concerns with the physical device itself. I bought mine and a new Samsung 128 gig micro SD card for it."

Find Best Price at Amazon"I don't use SD or MicroSD cards much any more like I did in college, but when my girlfriend's Android freaked out and corrupted her entire Micro SD card (I think that's what it was), I told her to let me borrow it. Using this card reader, I was able to plug her Micro SD into my computer, and, with the card still in the reader, ran a data recovery program that rebuilt all her photos that weren't corrupted. Like I said, I don't use card readers very often any more, but this is one of those things that I feel like everyone should have in case of an emergency, like needing to download photos after a digital camera's computer cable is lost, or when you need to get files off an Android."

Storing 12 SD cards in one case may seem like a bit much, but you don't really have to store 12 SD cards in the case. When I didn't have more than 12 cards, I would designate one side of the Pelican case for "Empty/Formatted Cards" and the other side would be designated for "Used Cards.""
