"Two other things I particularly appreciate about the design: the zipper is not right in the middle; you set the computer into the case, and the padding covers the sides and edges, while the zipper is above the centerline, at about the same level as the lid. The upshot is that the computer is not rubbing up against the zipper, but against the padding. The other thing is that the case unzips far enough to easily remove the computer, but not far enough that I have to worry about it falling out when I unzip the case."

I also knew that I preferred a distressed leather bag with slide-in buckles and a very sturdy shoulder strap (that wouldn't stretch out with use). It came as a lighter color than is pictured, but I bought a $5.00 can of mink oil and rubbed it down. The leather is very sturdy and holds up well when the bag is sitting on the floor...it doesn't fall over like a lot of the more expensive bags. The only issue I've had with the bag is that after about a week of use (carrying it to work and school and back), one of the slide buckles will no longer hold (it just slides out) and keeps the flap from securing on one side."
