"The one I rented didn't come with an instruction book, and the guy behind the counter at ACE Camera in the DC area said to me: "Punch a button, and if the front control dial doesn't do it, the back control dial will." I have been shooting with a Canon 5D2 since it was introduced, and the difference in dynamic range between the 645D and 5D2 is amazing, with the 645D producing far more shadow and highlight detail. Generally I print a finalized print size on 24" wide paper, and it is necessary to reduce the image size about 1.5 inches on the long side to make it fit. I have enlarged several image to 42x60" (approximately), and they holdup exceptionally well. However, I do teach digital photography at a small NE university in their visual arts department."

"In my research, I had read of a lack of lenses for this platform, but as a landscape shooter, I tend to use manual focus and M mode to have full control over my image; I was pleasantly surprised to very easily find an array of available older lenses as well as a couple of new ones to add to my kit. The first day I took out the 645D for some night shooting, I found my fingers slipping right onto my dials, ISO button, AF back button, AE-L, up/down arrow buttons, etc...everything was in a familiar place. The 645D adds a few well chosen extra buttons and knobs to take advantage of the larger body real estate which I find to be very smart. There is a dedicated bracketing button in virtually the same spot I had programmed the "RAW" button on my K5 to invoke bracketing. For my night shooting, I discovered I can feel for that in the dark easily. If this is not offered, I would hope they get a firmware fix to make it possible because not everyone wants to wait for NR following star trail shots, for example."

"I have shot every level of camera there is and 4 bad Nikons in a row pointed me towards the mirrorless revolution. If you can't shoot a bride walking down the isle with these very quick cameras, a Nikon isn't going to save you from your lack of skill. "And no, it doesn’t have WiFi, but Bluetooth instead that uses Nikon’s SnapBridge app to receive JPEG on your phone which works fine, if all you want to do is upload to Facebook, Instagram, etc, which compresses your images anyway. But for better quality photos, you’ll want to shoot in RAW anyway (or at least RAW + JPEG) and transfer your pics to your computer via the SD card (not included btw), so you can process the images on Photoshop, Lightroom, or whichever processing software you prefer, to really bring your photos to life and make them more professional. And all the self proclaimed experts on here who say this camera isn’t as good as the D3300 are just flat out wrong and don’t know what they’re talking about."
