"I have spent countess hours perfecting my dough and sauce making recipes & techniques, and I'm very picky about the products that I use ("00" flour imported from Italy, mozzarella di bufala imported from Italy, San Marzano tomatoes...imported from Italy, you get picture). And these are TRUE San Marzano tomatoes imported from Italy, not just the "san marzano style" crap that you get in most grocery stores in the U.S. And pizza doesn't get any more authentic than when it's made with real San Marzanos! The only ingredients are Tomatoes and Tomato Puree."
"The reviewers are correct when they state these are not DOP Certified by the Italian authorities charged with protecting their brand name "San Marzano". I cooked up some wild shrimp with garlic and salt added a little basil and topped it off with some Italian Parsley right before serving."
"I am waiting for my fresh tomatoes from my garden, but these are delish!"
"It makes a lovely homemade tomato sauce without the bitterness you get in the pre-made versions."
"certification has no bearing on the quality but does mean these are the cheapest of the Real Thing on Amazon."
"I love baking pizza and decided to try a traditional 'Neapolitan' style- or at least as close to it as I can get in a home kitchen in the US."
"I love these tomatoes."
"San Marzano tomatoes are the best plum variety and they are essential for great red sauces and pizzas."

"Tomatoes are on the 'hot' list, they are one of the foods that usually have more pesticides than other vegetables and fruits. I love the taste, but why has Muir Glen has contributed $520,000 to defeat proposition 37?"
"POSITIVES. Organic. BPA free can. Tasty diced tomatoes which are fire roasted for a special touch. The pieces are about a little over an inch so a good size and not tiny. Quality fresh tasting sweet tomatoes. HIGHLY RECOMMEND."
"Except for the fact that this Muir Glen tomato sauce is organic and the various other brands of, no salt added, tomato sauces that I have been using are not, I can not discern much difference in taste or texture between them."
"I wouldn't typically put this in the product review (and my rating reflects the advertised product, not my experience), but there seems to be something with this vendor not sending the correct item. ************. Update: Within a week following the incident described above, Amazon posted a notice on this site that Amazon was looking into complaints regarding this product when shipped from Amazon.com."
"---------------------------------. Back in 2011, the last time I ordered this product from Amazon.com, the case of tomato sauce cans had no dents and were BPA free. Because Amazon was out of this product when I ordered, last week (8/22/2012), I received a case from another reliable dealer in which half of the case contained dented cans and all contained BPA. As to the BPA issue, she advised that 2 seasons ago they stopped using BPA cans but some pre-2014 use-by-date cans may still contain the white lining/BPA in the cans."
"I have received 4 orders of these and there are always some dented cans."
"Odd they were all dented but packaged so well in a 12 pack plastic wrapped cardboard box.... looks like they went in the package already dented up because the damage was all over the place, some on top, most on the sides."

Best Sun-Dried Tomato Pastes

Amore All Natural Tomato Paste, 4.5 Ounce Tubes (Pack of 12)
Pack of twelve 4.5 ounce tubes of concentrated tomato paste (54 total ounces).
Reviews
"I prefer to have multiple choices of texture, consistency & heat when it comes to the hot stuff I cook with or add to finished dishes, so this small tube that packs a punch was a good choice because it takes up so little room (packs great re: camp-outs) & can easily be used up before getting stale."
"It can taste a little bitter when I heat it up, so I add my favorite extra virgin olive oil to it before I use it."
"Using this product doesn’t require much doctoring so you taste your fresh ingredients and my sauce turns out delicious."
"I've heard of tube tomato paste and this was the first time I used it, so I can't compare to other brands."
"I have so many recipes that call for just a couple tablespoons of tomato paste."
"The flavor is nice and robust."
"I can only guess it would be equally good on cold pasta."
"We can keep a partially used tube in the refrigerator for long periods of time without it going bad."

"Takes me back to my childhood - sitting on the back porch with a flat of just-picked tomatoes and a salt shaker, biting into the sun-warm fruit while the juice drips off my chin."
"Look closer and you'll notice a faint greenish or more yellow area and when pressed with finger they're hard and dont give like a regular tomato section does. I know I might seem fussy, but the price should alot lower than the cans with larger tomato pieces, not higher. So there's no regulation of BPA". But in January, 2010, the FDA did something remarkable -- it reversed its position that BPA is safe, and said we agree with our science advisory agency that there is reason for concern for prostate cancer, for early puberty, for a variety of things. ---. One problem other than early puberty in females (because it mimics estrogens) is the feminization of boys and males (including affecting their development in-vitro from the mother's consumption of BPA as well as soy proteins) that we don't often read about. This could produce a national security problem, if we are developing feminine boys (watch the feminists scream at me :)). Either way, I figured people who purchase organic products would appreciate being made aware of this, if they weren't already :)."
"Just received my order of these tomatoes and also the tomato sauce....many of the cans were dented."
"Like any other canned tomato couldn't tell it was roasted."
