"I haven't used in years, but was worried about absorbing though the skin via contact while trimming and growing (the answer is YES you can). In the middle is straight tap water, and the right was dipped in cannabis tea made with boiling hot water and a couple fresh buds/trim (sacrifice for science). Couple side notes: I had a small female coworker use one, and she had used 4 days prior. I only bring this up as it may be worth noting that THC on your hands (like from trimming your sticky-icky-icky) could affect this if you somehow were dumb enough to dip a finger in your urine."

The units are expected to last anywhere from 3-5 years (time dependent not based on number of reads). Their calibration service consists of reading the device at high, low and mid BAC standards and comparing it to the acceptable range. According to their customer service, this is a common occurrence after owning the device for three years. At least put an expiration date or some sort of specification that lets your customers know about this or else you'll inevitably have blood on your hands. If it fails to properly operate and there is not safeguard or printed date, then good luck to you buddy!"

"Straight out of the box, it was returning BAC values 0.20+ higher than his actual BAC values (as determined by the ER when we freaked out over the insanely high value he blew). We've used it another four or five times and each time it has consistently read scary high numbers (which are WAY higher than anything we've observed in the ER, even when used simultaneously in front of medical staff)."
