"I have a 2nd generation vortex bowl, and the center spire of the bowl was too high at first, making the lotus wobble and sit too high, which created gaps around the edge of the bowl which prevented the hookah to work properly. If you have a vortex bowl that lotus CAN work with it beautifully, but you either have to sand down the spire with sandpaper, or put foil around the bowl edge to raise the edge. The lotus makes smoking sessions easier to set up, eliminates the need to fuss with the coals, makes the coals last longer, prevents burning, and makes the shisha taste better. It is very expensive for what it is, but if you aren't a master of heat management and you want a great session every time, the kaloud lotus is a good bet."
"You have to get used to how many coals and how high you want to fill the bowl with tobacco to prevent over burning. You can also mix tobacco around after you smoked it for an hour to get more fresh flavor and prevent a solid burnt top and uncooked tobacco on bottom."
