You're going to spend more on lotions and potions that you'll end up returning to the local walmart, than you will on this comb, and this is the only thing you'll need. Ok, here goes: Friday afternoon at pickup, I noticed a nit on a strand of my daughters hair. *please don't let the little one have it, please don't let the little one have it* chants through my mind as my other child, the curly headed one, skips toward me from kindergarten. I stand there, confusedly trying to decide between Nix and Rid, Store brand and Lice Freee (total waste of money, by the way. The "active ingredient" Naturum muriaticum, is a fancy name for salt! I settle on absolutely every version, deciding to make my decision at home where I can be more comfortable in my neuroses. When my oldest came home from the second grade with a louse and a few nits, I did what any self respecting mother would do - I shaved his head down to nothing and didn't bother with it. I make no warranty express or implied about the factual accuracy of my statements. *Nymphs (baby lice) and Eggs have no CNS - Central Nervous System. Now grab up one of the hundreds of bottles of lice shampoo you've already purchased and read on there somewhere about how you don't have to remove the nits, and how this kills Lice AND Eggs so children can return to school faster.. I'm not going to advocate against using the pesticides, but you HAVE to use a quality nit comb if you want this problem gone. I've read countless stories on the internet about cases of lice that just wont go away. You have to sit there and comb the ever loving crap out of your precious little snowflakes hair until it is FABULOUS and Lice free, but the results are immediate and lasting. My children came home with lice one week ago, and yesterday at their second combing check, there wasn't so much as an empty nit casing."
"If that purple comb or any fine tooth comb is the only one you have that will do also, just make sure you comb through it and get everything you can. The day I got the Terminator comb in I had her take a shower so her hair would be wet and then I put the top part up, not even half up half down since her hair is so thick. The lice lady says to remove what you can and do it everyday until you don't see any nits or lice, brush the comb through for 100 strokes but if you find a bug or nit start again at 1. Okay, after I combed through the bottom layer the best I could I untied the top layer, before this I hadn't seen any large lice but the first comb through I pulled out 2 big lice and some more small ones. After I combed through the top layer to the point that I wasn't finding really anything that warranted me messing with her hair much longer, I moved to the bottom to do a quick run through again to make sure any other big lice didn't run down to hide in hair. After each comb through I wiped the comb on a paper towel and made sure there were no bugs or nits stuck in the teeth that would get put back in the hair. When you use the conditioner and comb through it will slide out of the hair on the comb which really helps the bugs to stay in one place while you are still working on the hair."

The no treatment group all died after about 2 days, the Rid shampoo group showed some lethargy with some dying right after, some hours later and some the same time frame as untreated group (I'd say it was about 70% effective with 1 treatment), the Lice Freee group died almost instantly as seen in the microscopic video I included. I placed one drop of PetArmor flea spray on 1 flea and Lice Freee on the 2nd flea. They both died in less than a minute but the Lice Freee flea had a more "seizure-like" initial reaction."
