Victorinox Swiss Army 10-1/4" Serrated Bread Knife with Fibrox Handle, 47547
Recommended by many leading culinary publications and blogs for its versatility, razor sharp blade, and comfortable handle, this knife has topped dpoundsens of other serrated knives, including ones that are double its price! The sharp points of the serrated edge pierce into hard crusty loaves or soft skinned fruits and veggies to maintain a strong hold and offer better control throughout slicing. The heft helps to make quick work of melon rinds and pineapples, while the razor sharp blade is perfect for slicing delicate eggplants and peaches. At 10 ¼", the blade is long enough to saw through large loaves of bread or cakes, but still has the control needed for cutting smaller items like tomatoes and baguettes. A curved blade allows you to comfortably slice soft fruits and vegetables with a rocking motion, and it has plenty of knuckle clearance which is something a straight bread knife cannot offer. Optimally weighted with high-quality, lightweight European steel reduces hand and wrist fatigue, making it comfortable even after extended use in the home kitchen. Whether a seasoned, or novice home chef, Victorinox Swiss Army offers not only the right tools and the know-how, but most importantly, the confidence to achieve one’s culinary aspirations. There, he and the cutlers’ union he formed produced the finest steel cutlery, finished with the now-famous proprietary edge preferred globally by professional and home cooks. Please NOTE that this item ships with the international item number 5.2933.26 on the blade and not 40547, 45547, 47547.US2, or 47547 but is the same 10.25" Fibrox Pro Bread Knife.

"I’ve had this knife for about 2 yrs now and wow, it’s a fine knife!"
"This is a wonderful bread knife."
"My FIL cut into his hand when slicing a hamburger bun not knowing how shape they are."
"Incidentally, Victorinox's website has a lot of very useful information about knives: types, construction, uses, care & sharpening."
"This is fIne for occasional loaves of crusty bread but mostly using for foods requiring a serrated edge. (This knife had been America's Test Kitchen best buy bread knife for a while until the recently ATK highly recommended the lower priced Mercer Culinary Millennia 10-Inch Wide Bread Knife took its place."
"This left me with some wonderful artisan bread I purchased and not one sharp enough knife to use to cut the crust and my bread knife went missing."
"On top of that, after reading reviews here, someone had mentioned they cut everything with the knife, not just bread. After a few months of just bread use, I realized how awful the rest of my knives are and started using this bread knife for everything."
"Granted, my old bread knife was a hand-me-down and I had no idea how to sharpen a bread knife."

Victorinox 7 Inch Fibrox Pro Santoku Knife with Granton Blade, FFP
Featuring a flat cutting edge and a rounded tip called a sheep's foot, the Fibrox Pro Santoku's unique shape makes it a stand-out from other kitchen knives. Formerly Forschner In 1937 Victorinox began selling cutlery in America through a Connecticut distributor called R.H. Forschner & Co. A well-known manufacturer of butcher scales, Forschner soon became the exclusive U.S. distributor for Victorinox knives, and was the name by which Victorinox knives were known. Hand Washing Victorinox Swiss Army recommends washing all knives by hand. Dishwasher While Fibrox Pro knives are dishwasher safe, we recommend hand washing as dishwashers are designed to spray water at a relatively high pressure, which can jostle the silverware and cause the knives to collide, dulling the edge. Maintaining your Knife’s Edge For optimum performance, knives should be honed after every couple of uses. Proper and frequent use of a honing steel will keep your knives sharper and performing at their best, but remember that a honing steel will not sharpen a dull knife. If your knives are dull, pitted, or you see visible nicks on the cutting edge, you’ll need to sharpen with a Swiss Sharp Handheld Sharpener (49002) or bring to a professional for re-sharpening. Please NOTE that this item ships with international item number 6.8529.17 on the blade and not 47529.US2, 45529, 41529 or 40529 but is the same 7" Fibrox Pro Santoku Knife.

"It's lightweight and feels like those cheap "as seen on tv" Ginsu knives I owned back when I lived in college."
"i wanted a work horse of a knife, not something for $200, but something which would stay sharp and comfy in hand."
"I used this to cut tri tip last night, when I couldn’t find my chef’s knife."
"While my other knives were not nearly as sharp, the edge on these is outstanding and glides through what ever I cut (cubing raw steak, tomatoes, cucumbers (I felt such little resistance that if I had not been watching would have thought I did not cut anything), sweet potatoes, etc). As for the knife, it is fairly lightweight, both blade and handle. Other cooks and chefs may prefer a heavier knife, but for me, the sharpness of the blade translates into the knife edge working, rather than the cook having to 'push it through.'. Think of another knife as having more of a wedge shape versus a uniform blade width (excluding the actual cutting edge). I would put this knife up against the $100 knife you buy 'for the looks' in a performance test."
"I’ve owned this knife for about 2 years now and it takes an edge very quickly and stays sharp for months."
"I really like this knife."
"I feel that the line, as a whole, is a phenomenal value - they blades are good, hold an edge well, handles are great and comfortable. I'm going to try and stick it out for a bit and see if I can find a comfortable way to hold the knife (only used for ~10 meals thusfar), but this one feels like it may be a return."
"I love this knife and I love Victorinox."

"I'm really happy with this knife."
"I was blown away by how sharp this knife is."
"I bought this for my wife over a year ago because she complained that we don't have a good knife to cut bread."
"The first half inch of the blade isn't serrated, so you can use it to cut out small bits; I use it to cut out the hard center of tomato slices where the stem was."
"The handle is nice and thick, but not too thick, which makes it more comfortable for my arthritic hands than our old, thinner handled bread knives."
"The knife cuts beautifully and the company has reached out to me a couple of times, to make sure I was satisfied."
"Pros: - looks beautiful. - one piece design. - does a good job cutting the bread. Cons: - hard to clean if you don't rinse immediately."
"We had not baked bread for a long while and when a friend requested fresh baked bread for a birthday dinner, we bought some of the frozen bread and put it in the oven to see how it would turn out."
