I found that waving my hand in front of the sensor (which is located on the top of the mirror) would make the light come back on but after doing that multiple times, it became a nuisance. I finally solved the problem by putting a small piece of delicate painters (opaque) tape over the sensor so that the light would not keep cutting off when I didn't want it to."
"I have always desired a lighted mirror for shaving since having one in a hotel room once. The mirror works flawlessly and does what it's supposed to: give me that lighted close up view to make sure I don't miss anything when shaving, and giving my wife the close-up for applying makeup. The sensor works flawlessly and requires you to get close enough that you'll avoid turning it on by just walking by. The base is a little over 4.5" in diameter, so it has a much smaller than typical footprint on whatever surface you place it. Having the power switch on the bottom of the base is the only thing not brilliant about the design. The costliest competitor I found was a same sized LED lit mirror with a power cord and no sensor or height adjustment for $130. Is the sensor, cordless power, extra long warranty, and height adjustment worth the $70 premium? BOTTOM LINE: It's the best lighted table mirror on the market hands-down. You'll get quality materials, a gorgeous design, along with features and a warranty no one else can match. "What I love about the Mirrorvana lighted mirror: Being two sided I can easily flip the mirror when I want that magnification. 5x magnification makes it easy to see the little things on your face (like that little hair that needs to be eradicated). The light is just the right brightness. What I don't like is that even though the batteries were easy to put in, the taking off the magnifying side of the mirror was a bit difficult for my smaller hands."
