"I purchased my Lasko 6435 heater about 2 years ago to provide heat to a 12' x 14' room that I spend quite a bit of time in. My objectives when I purchased it were to provide a cost effective method for heating this room which would be pretty much balanced out by lowering my house thermostat by a few degrees. Pros -. * Energy Efficient ( note this is for radiant heat for a small space as a supplement to an HVAC system ). * Quiet and I really like the oscillator function .. I think it is effective in heating the area. * Looks much nicer than a typical space heater. Cons -. * I really don't think I needed to pay for the remote - I never use it but for some it may be nice. I hope this review is helpful .. if it is please let me know."
"Its is enough to heat a room (340 square foot with high ceiling) in half an hour."
"Not only is it nice looking, but it's quiet and puts out a good amount of heat (at least for where I need it, which is our bathroom). I had a tall tower fan (the nice, wooden-framed ones) that I hated...spent $150 and it worked for ONE winter before it sounded like it was gonna take off every time you tried to use it."
"And in case you're wondering, there isn't a way to use this with smart outlets or temperature sensors. The heater will run on MAX until the thermostat detects it's over 65 degrees and shut off. I've seen people that try to put heaters onto cheap extension cords with a bunch of other stuff."
"AWESOME heater!!!! It does not get cold here too much but for the few weeks a year I need this I love it."
"I purchased this heater in November 2011 and was really happy with it for over 5 years."

"The only small heater that does a better job is about $100 from Vornado (VH10), and it doesn't heat a room much better for the difference in price (you wouldn't make back the initial investment). The source I used had a PHD physicist test a ton of space heaters (pretty much all of the available ones) and is updated to this year. One important thing to remember is that you shouldn't really have anything else plugged into the outlet, as you run a high risk of either tripping the breaker or starting a fire. Both jacks on a wall outlet combined are often 1800w (if wired correctly), so that doesn't leave a lot of wiggle room when this heater is set to high. Also keep in mind that its lifespan will be shortened when exposed to steam in a bathroom (which tons of people are using this heater for, then complaining when it breaks)."
"So far, it can raise the temperature in my room from 68 F to about 80 F (and probably get higher if I didn't get too hot) in about an hour in my small to medium sized room on the higher settings. I feel that maybe I just happened to have bad luck and got a bad one, so I would definitely pick up another one if this one kicks the bucket."
"The Holmes heater gave me great service, but a switch went on it and it just wasn't worth fixing. The Nikko Lighting showed a picture of them doing a comparison of three heaters and their temperature output. I grabbed a thermometer and placed it in front of this Lasko heater and watched the needle on the dial rise. For the price of the Lasko I can purchase two and still have money left over vs. the cost of the Nikko Lighting."
"I live in a 40ft camper and bought this heater to use in my bedroom which is about 12ft x 15ft with the slide out."
"Recently purchased one for a relative, found their quality to seriously be wanting."
"This heater is a huge fire hazard."

"We canceled our gas service because it was costing us $50/month without ever using it and we only need to run the heater a few short months of the year here in central Texas. It's also not hot to the touch, which I was worried about since we often have customers with children who may try to touch it!"
"Early last Fall (2015) we moved from NE Florida to N. Virginia and we were warned that the gas furnaces in this house would not be able to keep up with the cold during the Winter. I'm a career network engineer, so I'm a pretty techie kind of guy, I've had to arrange for power for large computer operation facilities, etc. So, I don't care whether it's quartz, infrared, how electricity it's using, or whether or not Dr. Heater is exaggerating the performance of their product, or whatever -- it heats, it works. It's not very heavy so I don't know why it has casters on it, but I guess they make it easier to move for changing direction of the air flow or whatever. And now I don't have to worry about anything to do with heaters and can move on to other more important things in my life (like some of the other reviewers here clearly need to do as well)."
"The last thing I tried before this was a radiator heater, which would've worked well had my AC not been leaking cold air all over the apartment. This heater heats up the entire apartment (not sure the exact size, but a small one bedroom one kitchen) perfectly. I've had it running since I got it yesterday, and unlike the radiator heater, its surface stays cool. Also, the problem with the heating mentioned in my second edit still stands: I was only able to bring the room up to 65 degrees with another heater I was running. On top of that, the customer service is completely unresponsive to my contact, so I can't even utilize the warranty to fix all my problems with the heater."

Sensi Smart Thermostat, Wi-Fi, UP500W, Works with Amazon Alexa
Designed to work with the wires you already have, Sensi thermostat does not require a common wire (c-wire) in many cases, so it is compatible with most heating and cooling systems* (U.S. and Canada only). Set your Sensi thermostat to automatically adjust your homes temperature for location-based temperature control with geofencing, or quickly create a 7-day schedule to reduce wasteful heating and cooling when no one is home. Integrates with Amazon Alexa for voice control and Wink smart home platforms, and works with Google Assistant and Google Home using the free Wink app.

"In my research I learned that my primary complaint the Nest - that the temperature swing was too wide - was addressed by Sensi's "cycle rate" setting. Nest's no-button design is cool, but using a thermostat is not a lecture in UX minimalism, and black-and-chrome doesn't really disappear into the background of my home (white trim and all). Granted, we didn't also install a second Nest to have more temperature sensors, and we didn't buy their $200 talking smoke detectors which also report environmental statistics back to the thermostat. Most people won't care about this but being a network security engineer, I'm impressed that the thermostat has exactly 0 open TCP ports, outbound communication is with one IP, and total traffic is very modest."
"--. I had been wanting to get a WiFi Thermostat for a long time now, but I held off because I was worried that I would buy one that wouldn't be compatible with my home or that I wouldn't be able to figure out how to install it. You select the wires that your current thermostat has, and then the app tells you what to label them and where they will go in the new thermostat. I had never replaced a thermostat before, and it took me under 30 minutes (which includes unboxing, looking for screwdriver, looking for AC unit shut off switch, watching how-to videos included with the app, etc). The app is handy because it also tells you your local Hi and Low temps from the forecast as well as the humidity in your home, upcoming schedule, set temp, actual temp, and the background is either blue, red, or grey depending on if your system is on Cool, Heat, or off at the moment. The only thing this is missing is a few more advanced options for the app, such as specific alerts (like if the temperature is changed manually, I would like to be able to get an instant alert on my phone) and an air filter change reminder that can be set for a certain amount of time (like 1, 2, or 3 months)."
