"Both of the legs marked 1 & 2 are grooved, and placed on the bottom of the seat first crossways. Likewise both the legs and arms, have a push in button that allows you to slide and lock the legs (arms) into position. With the legs, it allows you to adjust the legs to the correct height for the person using the chair. After looking at quite a few bath chairs, I chose this."

"The bench legs adjust in height independently to compensate for the difference between the floor and the bottom of the tub and also for the slope inside the tub. You also need a really cheap, flimsy shower curtain, (think dollar store) that can be tucked into the little slot between the part of the bench that is inside the tub and the part that is outside."
"Easy to put together, adjustable for both left and right side entrace, and each leg height can be adjusted individually which ensures stability for differing bathtubs."
"Even now that I'm healed, I still use it to wash my legs because I can't bend down like I once used to."
"Bought this post back surgery."
"The only issue I had was that out would've fit our tub perfectly if there were two more notches on both legs to fit the exact height of both the tub and the floor."
"I bought this for my mother who had a stroke."
"It worked well for two months and then as I was getting out of the bench, the leg SNAPPED OFF."
"Examination. --------------. There are three (3) areas of the bench where water can collect: • the inverted “U” tube under one end of the seat, • the leg braces under each end of the seat, and. • the leg extensions. These parts are: • Push pin springs located behind each push pin, • Washers inside of the small rubber tips attached to the long legs, and. • Tube connector inserts located at the bottom of each short leg and at each end of the leg braces. Because of direct contact with water, the push pins and push pin springs in ALL of the legs, the washers inside of the small rubber tips, and the tube connector inserts inside of the short legs show the most corrosion and/or rust. Because one end of each spring is in direct contact with aluminum, the other end is inserted into a hole in the back of a brass push pin, and the brass push pin is in contact with the aluminum, the contact points quickly corrode and the steel quickly rusts. Water Collecting in the Inverted “U” tube and Leg Braces. ---------------------------------------------------------------. Each leg brace is an aluminum tube with a slight downward bend at the center. At the other end of the bench, the leg brace ends are connected with screws that go through the leg receptacles and through each end of an aluminum tube that is shaped like an inverted “U”. Because the tube connector inserts inside of the leg braces are made from zinc-plated steel, they will eventually corrode and rust; however, because there is no direct contact with water, deterioration is slow. The only solution for water collected inside of the inverted “U” shaped tube and the inside of the leg braces is to drill a 1/8” hole in each plastic plug and through the bottom of the bend in each leg brace. Water Collecting in the Leg Extensions. -------------------------------------------. There are two (2) leg extensions attached to large suction cups (i.e., short legs) and two (2) leg extensions attached to small rubber tips (i.e., long legs). Each small rubber tip on the long legs has a hole in the bottom that allows water to drain out of the leg. All of the leg extensions can retain water; however, because of the hole in the small rubber tips, rocking or lifting the bench drains the long legs. Because the washers in the small rubber tips on the long legs and the tube connector inserts in the short legs are made from zinc-plated steel, those parts will corrode and rust. NOTE: After two (2) weeks of use in a shower, the galvanizing on the washers in the small rubber tips and the tube connector inserts inside of the short legs are corroded and rusting. There are two (2) options to drain water out of the short legs: 1) If you have a flat file or a 1/8” round file, an inexpensive modification to drain the short legs is to cut drain holes at the point where the aluminum tube contacts the large rubber suction cup. This is easily done as follows: Remove both short legs, unscrew the large suction cup attached to each short leg, use the round file or the edge of the flat file to cut two (2) notches about 1/8” wide and 1/8” deep in the aluminum tubing at the bottom of each short leg, reinstall the large suction cups, and reinstall the short legs. 2) If you are handy and have a few tools, a slightly more expensive modification is to replace the large suction cups on the short legs and small rubber tips on the long legs with “Rubber Leg Tips” purchased from your local hardware store. Once you have the rubber leg tips and washers, press a washer to the bottom of the opening in each rubber leg tip (a 6” length of 3/4" PVC pipe works great to press the washer). Finally, vent each rubber leg tip by drilling a 1/4" hole through the bottom of the rubber leg tip using the washer as a guide. The modification is accomplished as follows: reinforce and vent all of the rubber leg tips, remove all of the leg extensions, remove the large suction cups and small rubber tips from all of the leg extensions, install a vented and reinforced rubber leg tip on each leg extension, and replace the leg extensions. Because the rubber leg tips do not normally seal to the floor, the hole in each rubber leg tip drains most of the collected water as soon as weight is removed from the bench."

Reviews
"My tiles are just over 4 and a quarter inches (photo 1). The measurement of the support from suction cup to suction cup is just around 11 and a half inches long. I think it would be a service to purchasers to list the actual dimensions of the handle and suction cups verses a tiled shower in the descriptions and have them measure the distance to avoid the overlap which does not let the item suction properly."
"The suction is super strong and the green lighting up feature is reassurance that it is properly installed and ready to be used."
"THIS BAR MAKES IT!!!."
"Only four stars because I had to "tweak" this device by adding a VERY thin layer of grease to the rims of the suction cups."
"And my tub is not wide enough for me to attach it to the top edge of the tub wall."
"However, I was very disappointed to find that it would not work in either of my bathrooms."
"Fantastic."
"Ankle replacement to be done in March 2018 so I desperately needed grab bars in my tiled shower."

Best Bathtub Safety Rails

Lumex Sure-Safe Bathtub Rail.
Reviews
"Using this on a "normal tub" with even inside & outside " sides at family members home & have heard no bad feedback."
"The only reason I subtracted a star is because it takes a lot of strength to tighten the handle down so that there is no wiggling and once in place it's a bit annoying if you plan to take it off the tub routinely for cleaning."
"God send for my elderly mother."
"I was concerned because what I read about these clamp on bars was that they could crack fiberglass tubs."
"Item as described and arrived quickly."
"I purchased this for my Mother who is elderly and she loves the added confidence and independence that this product provides!"
"This is a great product, works perfectly, very sturdy."
"So far, so good."

"However, in spite of the central hole in the mat, water under the mat is trapped there by the underside and will stay there unless you pull the mat up to drain it."
"I bought it when my 86 year old Dad was coming to visit to ensure his safety but will keep it in the shower for myself now, also."
"I could only find a solid square mat and fought the nuisance of having to lift the mat while showering to. let the water go down."
"Dont like that it doesnt lay flat and suction cups on bottom pop when stepped on, then pop back up!"
"The hole does not match up perfectly, but I knew that when I bought it."
"I would give it a 5 star if the cutout for the drain were smaller."
"As my husband and I get on in life we are being more cautious about our footing."
"(I have a cheaper rubber mat in my other bath, which also has suction cups, and it cushions the feet from feeling the suction cups.)."

"I bought this shower seat for my 67-year old mother to use after kidney surgery. I asked my mom for her thoughts on this and she said she could see where having a back on the chair might get in the way."
"The reason for the 4 star: After reading the instructions several times and looking at the picture on the box of the Ez2care Adjustable Lightweight Shower Bench then it was easy to put the bench together."
"I have it adjusted at the lowest setting and it's just low enough to scoot myself up on, and high enough to push myself off."
"After extensive shoulder surgery i feel much safer sitting in the shower."
"But also, it is perfect for a petite person in that the sides come up and give them more security while bathing. Had to get my husband to assemble the last part of the leg extensions but it is very easy to put together."
"It took me about five minutes to lock it all into place, and the screws have nice handles on them, which make them easy to twist."
"It fit just right into my tub, so I'm glad about that."
"A quick light, portable seat for emergencies."
