The barrel that goes into your ear is about 0.7" long and 0.250" in circumference, which is a bit large in my experience. The one I received had some relatively rough edges on the barrel -- it is inserted in your ear, and it was noticeable -- and emery helped smooth it. The Scope is powered by a USB cable connected to your Windows PC. To use it, one starts that awful software (see below) and looks at the video on the monitor. The position of the probe is critical, and a slight change in rotation or angle makes a big difference. What concerns me is using it on small children or babies, who have tiny ears and are crying already from their problems. The USB cable is ~3' long, which may not be sufficient if you have it connected to your ear from the computer : buy a longer one. Then you are supposed to go to the Printers window, where you will find something new under Devices (depending on your Win version). Trying to click on the smallish Photo icon while holding your probe hand steady is a challenge. Long story short, it's worth $35 if you want to play around, but as a bona fide medical device, meh."
