"Since the Embrace strips I purchased didn't account for a small vertical incision below my bellybutton or the scar around the belly button itself, I'm also using silicone tape (Meditac). - On time delivery. - Because the strips stay on from 7-10 days, there is not much "up keep", unlike ScarAway Silicone Gel which requires two applications daily. Not a big deal, these abrasions tend to clear up anywhere from 3-10 days depending on the severity, but the pulling on the skin around the strips can be uncomfortable and pinch at times. When you apply Embrace everything looks nice and new, but within a day the adhesive has migrated out around the strips and collected lint from every article of clothing you own. I couldn't find any information on this so I continued using Embrace (mostly because scar therapy is most effective the earlier you can begin treating). I don't know if this is advisable (they never did call me back), however I can say that I did continue using the strips in areas where I could feel / see remnants of stitches rising to the surface or popping through and it didn't seem to cause a problem. OVERALL: I began using Embrace on my breasts a week before I started using them on my stomach incision since there were a few spots along my abdomen that took longer to heal. During that time I used the Meditac Silicon Strips on areas of my tummy tuck incision (and where the drains were removed) that had healed and left the other areas uncovered or covered with the doctor recommended tape."
