The Atlantic
A great deal has changed since Ralph Waldo Emerson, Oliver Wendell Holmes, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, James Russell Lowell, and Harriet Beecher Stowe planned the first issue in 1857. But since its inception, The Atlantic has given voice to some of the most provocative ideas of its time, from Henry David Thoreau's blunt naturalism to Martin Luther King's calls for justice. The features are written in an accessible style to reach a wide audience, while the high standard of integrity and respect for facts make the magazine a reliable resource for serious readers who want to be informed.
Reviews
"Kindle magazine subscriptions can only be read on one device or software installation."
"I hate classic left-right classifications of socio-political views because there are way more than two types of people in the world but, as crude shorthand, I would say The Atlantic is intellectually left-leaning with a conscience that does not elide thoughts that come from the right."
"It's a great magazine."
"Never read this magazine before."
"If you have any intelligent liberal friends on your gift giving list, a subscription to this magazine makes a great gift that keeps on giving."

The Economist - US Edition
The Economist is the premier source for the analysis of world business and current affairs, providing authoritative insight and opinion on international news, world politics, business, finance, science and technology, as well as overviews of cultural trends and regular Special reports on industries and countries. For readers who are interested in the latest news on art, entertainment, political, and world news, The Economist magazine also regularly includes book and movie reviews. If you pride yourself on always being aware of the latest in world news, economics, and politics, and you want one resource in which you can easily access current information on these subjects and more, The Economist magazine can provide you with everything you need.
Reviews
"The digital subscriptions and authentication to access this content happens directly on the Economist's servers, so features served from the Economist's servers are easily matched and delivered to subscribers. But without it The Economist has no way of knowing who is subscribing through Amazon, so they cannot offer the digital features to kindle subscribers. This is how it SHOULD work (listen up Amazon): 1) You pay for the Kindle subscription. 2) You then sign up with a free account at Economist.com that doesn't have any subscription rights to it (yet). 3) You add your amazon info to your Economist user account. 4) The Economist's server pings the Amazon server, and the Amazon server says "Yup, this guy is definitely a paying subscriber, and he is paid up through XX/XX/XXXX". 5)You get the Kindle subscription every week, plus the ability to log in to the Economist.com with a newly subscriber-enhanced user account. The Economist would LOVE to give Kindle subscribers digital access, but there's no practical way to do this because Amazon refuses to implement APIs to make Step 4 possible."
"My hectic work schedule doesn't allow me the leisure to read each and every issue cover to cover, so this option is perfect for me."
"My whole family enjoys reading The Economist in order to keep up with world news."
"Unfortunately, did not see that this offer does not include both paper and digital."
"My husband expressed an interest in this magazine after reading a few issues at our daughter's house."
"IVE BEEN READING THEECONOMIST FOR 40 YEARS."
"I have been a subscriber to the Economist for over a decade off and on as finances and time allowed."

Reviews
"I'm giving the Kindle Smithsonian only two stars, but not because of the content, which is generally outstanding, nor because of the format, which is also excellent, but because of its delivery schedule. First, Smithsonian actually replied to this comment in a very professional and positive manner and explained that this was a mulitple problem error that they have now discovered and fixed. Thirdly, with regard to content, Smithsonian is my favorite Kindle magazine."

"Pretty much anything you can think of that has to do with your home is included in this magazine. I haven't had any problems with unwanted auto-renewal of my magazines on Amazon as long as I follow these steps to turn it off: 1) Go to your account and look under Membership and Subscriptions. 3) Once selected, you will see all of your current magazine subscriptions and when they will be renewed at the lowest Amazon price. I've been subscribed to all of my magazines from Amazon for over 2 years now and have never had a payment request from the magazine company or a continuation of magazines arriving when I said I didn't want them to."

Reviews
"CANSLIM has a strict set of rules, starting with finding stocks with good fundamentals, then "buying right", then selling right. But the rules are good and the paper and online resources will help you find the stocks that meet them. Some of the fundamental CANSLIM rules you probably violate all the time... 1) NEVER buy a stock when the market is in a correction. 2) NEVER average down on a losing stock (but do average up properly on a winning stock). 3) NEVER let your loss exceed 7-8%. 4) Buy right (good fundamentals first, then proper chart pattern and breakout). 5) NEVER hold too many stocks, you can't keep up with them and there are only so many great stocks (if your stock is not proving to be at least good shortly after the proper buy point, then sell it and wait for another opportunity or invest proceeds in a better stock you own (at proper add on point))."
"what I hated is the freaking adds every time you wan to view a video.. you would think that IBD will take those adds out for paying customer and live those in for non subscribers."
"It is not smoke and mirrors, but based on a very nice and established mix of fundamentals (let's not forget that stocks are companies), technical momentum and institutional sponsorship. IBD does not claim to predict the future, but keeps you in touch with the market and literally gives you buy points and data that support whether to invest in a company and when. IBD needs to realize that it's not only gray hairs firing up their DOS 386 computers that are interested accessing their information, but increasingly its young and middle age people that have DECADES to invest."
"However, just this year she will no longer be getting the printed copy as they are discontinuing the print editions that she has relied upon for years."
"I have had IBD for a number of years but am cancelling my subscription."
"Probably won't re-subscribe as there just isn't that much useful information for me that I can't find other places unless I want to pay $699 for Leaderboard or $999 for Marketsmith."
