One thing I did notice is that while it takes place in the same Sweet Grove as established in Melissa Storm's First Street Church series and mentions some of the same characters, the chronology of those characters' life events doesn't match Melissa Storm's original books. Mechanics and Writing: 4 -- A handful of typos, punctuation issues, or word errors. Errors include: compound word confusion, mild punctuation or formatting issues, a handful of awkward sentences. I appreciated how being honest and vulnerable with each other helps bring Thatcher and Piper together."

In general I don’t like spinoffs or sequels written by other authors, because in the majority of, if not all, cases they are invariably disappointing. Voice is a concept that isn’t easy to define, but for me it is the distinctive style in which a writer deploys language to create a world before our inner eyes, the way they enhance their characters with personality, and how they imbue everything with a certain mood. With all the discussion about ghostwriters and famous authors not really writing their own books (anymore) there is some controversy about whether voice can be imitated. She assumes she is being blackmailed to retract her story, so she decides to back to the club to confront Vair, but things are not what they seem at all."
