Carolyn Hax w/ art
Carolyn Hax's advice column is the standard of measurement for the genre. Since her explosion into syndication in 1998, Hax has revolutionized the advice column by giving in-depth, ruthlessly practical, sometimes controversial, often coffee-up-your-nose funny advice that also happens to be really good.
Reviews
"If someone writes her about their abusive partner they shouldn't expect her to give them permission to stay in the relationship; she WON'T. What she will do, instead, is help them to see what it is about them that drew them into this situation, why these things tend to happen to people, and therefore what action they need to take to get out and stop the cycle from repeating again. My only regret is that she hasn't released an electronic book version of her advice-- for instance a compilation of all of her columns over the past few years-- I'd buy it in a heartbeat. A daily blog just doesn't seem enough for dispensing the quality of wisdom Carolyn Hax has to offer. Sure enough, like magic, after a week or so of waiting I turned on my Kindle one morning and the blog updated automatically WITH ALL OF THE MISSING DAYS INCLUDED. The Carolyn Hax column does not deal with time-sensitive information like daily news stories or traffic reports or stock quotes. This blog addresses issues which are timeless-- love, heartache, happiness, shame, guilt, family, death, life etc. These matters never go out of style, which means that if your blog delivery is delayed for a few days once in a while, who cares?"
"Hax's Kindle blog also includes excerpts from her online discussions so other posters get a chance to weigh in. I don't enjoy those as much as her regular column, because no on can beat Hax's wit, but it is fun to see what others have to say."
"I also have another Washington Post blog daily not updated since 4/25."
"I enjoyed this blog but it hasn't updated since April 25th."

"I am grateful to Amazon for the free reading, and I love my Kindle from Amazon."
"and already books were repeated and had already been mentioned in this blog. Since subscribing to ths blog one month and one day ago, I have added an enormous total of 217 books to my Kindle library!"
"Not only do you get a list of the free books categorized (e.g.horror romance religious travel etc) You also get a full description of the book and any reader warnings such as strong language etc."
"There are books available in more than 20 categories every day, including poetry, cooking, politics, religion, horror, sci-fi, romance, thrillers, and books for children. Then, after you've selected all the free books you want to download, go to your Amazon account and download them from your wish list with one click for each book. Of course I first browsed through the free books listed by Amazon and downloaded the ones I wanted, but after you've been through their list of 1000 or so books, they all look the same. In the several months I've subscribed to this blog, I've downloaded over 1,000 free books that caught my attention and paid what?"

"Duana, I sense wonderful things coming out of this column, and to all of Duana's new fans reading this column for the first time, you've found a gem of a resource!"
"It is shocking to be confronted with scientific data that often support the fears we have when it comes to our love-relationships, and the good doctor is quick to help us navigate the awkwardness of these hard truths, so we can end up being winners at what easily feels like a losing game."
"But if you appreciate reasonable conversation on topics that are relevant as well as fascinating, you'll eagerly anticipate your biweekly "talk" with Dr. D. Regardless of your relationship status, Dr. D provides information that all of us need in order to create and sustain our happiest state of being."
"I've read every single column and eagerly await more -- Dr. Welch's advice is not just grounded in science but is full of compassion, honesty and heart."
"As a social psychologist, I know much of the science on love and relationships, and I appreciate that Dr. Welch goes to great lengths to accurately summarize the research while still making the column accessible to a wider audience."
"As a new member to the Kindle community, I found a haven in Dr Duana Welch's Blog;LOVE SCIENCE MEDIA; After reading Duana's profoundly honest and down to earth articles and reader responces; I felt comfortable enough to trust Duana's advice; I reached out to Duana to assist me in a personal matter that has been troubling me my entire adult life; I was reluctant to read Duana's email or rather the bad news; but Duana's responce was from her heart; and filled with reinforcing statistic that made me comfortable enough to accept my dilemma and move on with life; to find a loving relationship with a better understanding that what I fear is a minor issue compared to what a woman really wants in a relationship.... Duana thank you for giving me the strength to face this dilemna and move on to something more positive......."
"Yes, I love my snarky columnists as much as anybody, but isn't it about time someone addressed real problems with a helpful attitude full of both brains AND heart? The letters and comments from readers are answered with warmth and wit instead of snideness."
