"FOR PEOPLE BAD AT PLANNING: • If you're on your way home from work and realize you don't have any food at home, you can pick up any combination of greens and fruits at the grocery store on the way home that you can slam in the blender. • If you get home and you find you have a weird collection of fruit and veg that would never make a proper balanced salad, fear not! Disclaimer: Kale still tastes like kale (gross), so maybe just don't try that) and wheatgrass should be clipped in half/thirds so it doesn't wrap around the blades like hair around a vacuum cleaner's brush."
"After doing a lot of research we decided to go with the refurbished one as a lot of reviews are saying this is the best deal with the Vitamix. We saved over $100 going with the refurbished one."
"The container is significantly shorter (but holds the same amount). It now slides under my counter tops with the container on the base. With the 5200 you had to use the on/off switch as some sort of makeshift pulse if you wanted to dice veggies. I've been using Vitamix machines for years, so you'll be happy with whatever model you get."
"I decided to try out the 5300, and there were a number of things I'd like to comment on after reading other reviews here. And they are easier to reach for any cleaning beyond the usual Vitamix's after-blend soapy water cleanse. In a world of instant everything, pushing one more button -- with a pretty blue light, i might add -- hardly seems a point to quibble when the machine itself is a thing of functional beauty. It performs just as the 5200; I do not see a difference, and I'm making smoothies, nut butters, soups, chopping veggies, etc. Vitamix -- again, no matter what model -- remains a U.S. built machine by workers in Ohio. The fact that it is made by U.S. workers AND is the best blender in the world makes us a Vitamix family for life."

"Twice a day, I blend fresh kale/spinach, frozen banana, frozen strawberries, frozen apples, frozen blueberries and frozen raspberries. Once a week, I buy fresh fruit and then I put the combination in a ziplock and I freeze it so that my smoothie is slushy!! Long story short; I was recently diagnosed with diabetes and a few months later, I almost died from a severe pulmonary embolism."
"OK - so I read a lot of reviews - when it came right down to it - the only real gripe I saw that people were having was this "leak" issue. Leak Issue: OK - Here is the deal....for all you people who cannot read the instructions in the manual that comes with the unit. DO NOT OVERFILL - SCREW BASE ON SECURELY. Still don't understand - how about this - DO NOT FILL ABOVE THE LINE MARKED ON THE CONTAINER WHICH STATES - MAX FILL LINE. I don't know how much clearer I can be without demoralizing someone at this point. Follow the instructions, do not overfill and screw the base on securely and it will work beautifully. If while blending you keep an eye on the base where it meets the clear plastic container - you can see the leak working its way up through the threads of the base. Best practice is though to NOT OVERFILL - DO NOT FILL ABOUT MAX FILL LINE - TIGHTEN BASE SECURELY. Price: I purchased mine at Target for $99 as most customers were complaining about the leak issue and if I had to return it, better to do it at the store where I bought it. I then went to Target's online website, looked it up there and did a "Stock Check" for stores in my area - All were sold out except one which was about 30 miles away - so I made the trek up and go there to find ONE last unit on the shelf - MINE!!! You shouldn't need to return it because it doesn't leak if your remember to NOT FILL ABOVE MAX FILL LINE and TIGHTEN BASE SECURELY. Overall Opinion: Have had this unit about a week and have done several dozen drinks with it so far and have absolutely no complaints - works great, is powerful and does not leak if your remember to NOT OVERFILL and NOT FILL ABOVE MAX FILL LINE.....lol. I realize "common sense" has lost its way in many areas of our society these days and when people cannot read the instruction manual which clearly says "Read First Before Using" then I start to wonder if maybe "literacy" is more the issue than "common sense". Either way - if you are reading this and feel offended by my comments about you not being able to understand what it means to NOT FILL ABOVE MAX FILL LINE or TIGHTEN BASE SECURELY, then I am sorry.....for you. I contribute much of the success to the NB and all the good things I can put in there and the benefits of having all of the stuff back in my drink rather than tossing it from using my old Juiceman Juicer. - DH. [Update:}. Nov 21, 2013 - OK folks, time for me to chime in on this "rust and blade issue". I find it very hard to believe this is rust in these other pictures - are you all not drying your unit after you wash it and then just leaving it in the cabinet for 3 or 4 months before taking it to use again and then NOT washing it before you use it? This is the same original unit I bought and it is still working fabulously and I use it ....8-10 times a week and my wife also uses it. So bottom line on this update - I still love it, new base is best, make sure you get one with new base."
"Generally I stick to some combination of spinach, carrots, Greek yogurt, bananas, strawberries, mango, blueberries, apples, and papaya. I add crushed ice and have a delicious smoothie every day for breakfast and it keeps me going till lunch. Another benefit of the Nutribullet is that it will enhance your ability to preserve produce in season, which I get from relative ' s gardens or the farmer's market."
"This item is counterfeit."
"I ran to the kitchen sink to put the fire out and saw that the bottom of the blender had melted."

"She always hated how our cheap, $50 blender couldn't handle ice when making smoothies. The thing that really sold me on this blender was simply the fact that it could handle ice like it's nothing at all (it can quite literally turn ice into snow in a matter of seconds) and even though I wanted a Vitamix, I just couldn't justify spending $400+ if this blender could do what we wanted it to do. I also liked that it came with the single serve option, because not only can we get rid of our Magic Bullet, but sometimes blending is a hassle because we don't feel like cleaning the pitcher. But with the single serve, it is a lot less hassle to clean, plus there isn't anything wasted because we can make just the right amount. So if you've got your heart set on a Vitamix or Blendtec, and for you having the absolute smoothest drinks are worth that kind of money, then you might as well take the plunge and get what you want. But on the plus side, I've noticed a lot of cheaper blenders have problems with the contents getting stuck at the bottom near the blades while everything else above it doesn't get blended. But I have found that if I essentially make a fruit smoothie, made of things like banana, strawberries, or blueberries, and then throw in a handful of leafy greens, it handles it very well. In general, fruit smoothies turn out very smooth in the Ninja blender. However, the single serve cups are the key to make the green smoothies into a "Vitamix-like" consistency. In general the single serve cups make better smoothies than the big pitcher does. Also please see the comments on this review where I give a link to the basics of making a green smoothie. Final Update (10/9/2015): Since writing this review, there have been other blenders that are better choices and are much more affordable than a Vitamix."
"We replaced an expensive blender ($400) that died after 5 or 6 years (old blender died with metal shot flying out everywhere) with this blender."
"I received this blender as a Christmas present and on its third use experienced a catastrophic failure - shot a quarter sized piece of ice straight through the (72oz) pitcher wall - as well as half of my blueberry shake over the kitchen wall. When the pitcher arrived it was for a completely different unit model. Once again I called Customer Service and they said they would the replace the entire unit (base and pitcher) this time but that I would have to pay the $19.95 for the shipping of a reconditioned unit."

"My mom has owned and loved hand blenders since I was a kid, and this one began its life being about as good as any of the ones my mom has owned over the years. I've made purees, jams, it's especially useful for finely chopping things that would otherwise take a small eternity to chop (nuts, herbs, etc). Fine for pulse-chopping pecans and the like, but I am dreading what will happen if I try to whip cream."
"I am a little disappointed in this product, it feels like the blades of the cup part (processor) should be tilted diagonally to mix in the upper stuff (whatever you want to process). Used the whisk works well in the cup that comes with it, just don't let it touch the bottom of the cup, it might stop the motor from running."
"The handheld part controls the whisk, mini chopper, and hand blender and the attachments just snap on to the handle with a push button release. There is also a “turbo” button that gives it an extra burst of power as needed without having to turn the dial. The set includes a large tumbler to use the hand mixer with and the food chopper base."
"When you first plug it in a blue ring around the speed dial quickly lets you know the unit has power and is ready to go. You press 2 buttons on either side of the motor unit to release the current attachment and the new snaps into place. We tried making meringue out of egg whites, the whisk attachment handled that beautifully and very quickly."
"Latest: the plastic teeth broke between the hand held motor and the chopper/immersion blender broke."

"I use it to chop onions and garlic for spaghetti sauce, and to make pesto with homegrown basil. The splash guards are keyed and must. be twisted/rotated into place to seal and mate properly with the jar. The multi-level blade assemblies contribute greatly to its chopping efficiency, so much so that one has to be careful not to overdo it."
"I think they could do with an improvement here and I'd be willing to pay extra for that, hence 4 stars instead of 5 which this product would otherwise have richly deserved. This review was written solely to share my experience with this product for the benefit of the Amazon community. As such, just as I disclose having received a review sample when that is the case, I thought it prudent to state that this is not one of those cases."
"There was very little plastic to protect the item and the shipper did not box the item in a separate box to protect it."
"I got rid of my blender. But now 4 months later, I noticed the medium blender bowl has a crack in the bottom of the bowl straight through where the pin is."
"This will be my first and last Ninja product."
"I've had this just under a year."
