If you just boiled water (which is why you use this thing) you might try and catch this falling top. Yes, this is a stupid thing to complain about but the Bonavita had a little plastic knob that you can use to remove the top. I didn't rate it lower because it is a kettle, it does get hot, and it meets some basic requirements. There are probably worse things out there but I would recommend getting Bonavita 1.0L Digital Variable Temperature Gooseneck Kettle (only $20 more at time of writing)."
