Find Best Price at Amazon"My dad and our neighbor bought this same press in 1988 and it became the foundation of a neighborhood tradition.The neighborhood where I grew up was built on an old apple orchard and a great apple tree on our lawn dropped apples on the neighbor's lawn. So the got together and bought a presser, then invited all the neighbors to bring the fruits of their apple and pear trees. All the kids helped put in apples, turn the wheel, and press the cider, while my mom and my neighbor's wife strained and served the cider. These small fruits didn't produce as much as you might think so we supplemented by buying the fallen apples off of an apple orchard every year. Only load a few apples at a time or you'll just be spinning apples. Don't overfill the mash--once the crushed apple pile reaches the top band it's time to press. The cider you get from pressing needs to be strained."
