At 3.5" it is a wee shallow for excellent tone but with the allen-key tuners I can quickly dial it up to a nice boom that isn't so low it makes the head all flabby and I'm glad I stuck with 18" instead of being tempted by the lower prices on a 16" or (shudder) 14"."
