"I purchased this from the companies website, they had an offer for the purchase of a poster and playbook and I got this free, I had intended to purchase this on it's own, but I'm nearly 30 and I need all the information and assistance I can get so I took the offer. I highly recommend you purchase poster to go with this, the playbook is nice but I do have another book which has more details and step by step instructions, but the songs are in standard notation, they teach you music theory throughout but for a beginner being able to see the note on the staff in the book, then glancing at the poster and seeing what note that is and being able to find it with the guide is very helpful."
"I am an adult beginner at my 40's who got no music background and started to learn violin for about 9 months a few years ago but stopped because my fingers weren't flexible like kids and found violin was a bit difficult to learn. Originally my violin teacher helped me to put 3 tapes on my violin for the 1st, 3rd and 4th fingers on 1st position."
"I am 30 years old, and do not play any instruments... my boyfriend surprised me with a full sized violin, which I knew nothing about but have always wanted to learn."
"It’s really simple and does exactly what you think it would do and does it well."
"Just what a beginner needs to cut down the time to develope muscle memory."
"Make sure neck is clean before putting this own."
"Since it isn't a sticker it is easy to put on and remove without loosening the strings."
"This is a purchase that everyone who owns a violin needs to make for yourself or gift to a friend."

"I love that I can hang my violin up with the shoulder rest still on it, and with the bow hanger there, I can literally just pull it off the wall and play immediately whenever I want to!"
"I bought this item because it wasn't the typical black or light stain, and I was tired of seeing the bulky violin stand holder sitting on my mantle or baby grand."
"Works perfectly to hold my violin and bow on the wall for quick easy access when I have a few minutes to practice."
"Not wanting to take up more floor space, I bought and mounted this for my violin and it's perfect."
"It works and holds my violin well with no issues and comes with everything you'll need to make sure it is very secure."
"This is great!"
"displays the violin securely and beautifully on the wall...now if my son would pull it down and start playing more regularly !!"

"Pin holder seems sturdy and hasn't gotten dinged up by my very sharp endpin."
"I knew it was going to be made of plastic, but the anchor end, the D-ring part, is very light and feels rather feeble. There's no mechanism to hold the silly thing still, and I often have to turn the ring around so that the strap lies on the flat part of the D. Nevertheless, it's useful, and works a whole lot better than a donut. It's a perfectly good purchase and provides a lot more stability and sense of security than donuts do!"

Best String Bass Parts

Palatino PV-250-B Bass Bow Holder
Bass Bow Quiver. Quiver Style.
Reviews
"I tied to to the E string hole on the tailpiece and around the end pin."
"My only complaint is whoever packed it, folded it in half and creased it."
"It isn't well proportioned to tying onto a tailpiece; it hangs lower than the body of the bass, so when the case is closed then it gets all bent up."
"My daughter is very happy with her bass bow holder."
"My son has been playing Bass for years, and has been asking for one of these since he got his own bass."
"Perfect for my 10 year old, who just finished a second full year playing the bass."
"Good for the price; it does it's job."

Reviews
"If you have good woodworking skills and then required equipment (chisel, sanding tool, file, calipers or micrometer, etc), then there are plenty of on-line sites which will give detailed shaping instructions, I like the instructions provided by Sally Mulikin at Triangle Strings."
"I purchased this one to have on hand as a spare, just in case I need to replace the original bridge that came with my 3/4 violin, as I'm sure I will have to replace it eventually, as they can get worn."
"This looks like a fine cello bridge, though I have not placed it yet in my cello."
"Bought a 1/4 scale cello from a flea market that was pieced together with some parts from a larger instrument."
"Got it fast, good sEller good price, I just finished cutting and fitted the bridge myself to my height I like."
"After ordering a new cello with a defective bridge, I ordered this one as a replacement."
"I bought two of these and both of them had slightly different measurements in the string spacings, curvature, and height."
"The bridge showed up and, as another reviewer pointed out, was symmetrical rather than as shown."

"Works really good very helpful for a beginner and if you can't remember where your first, second, third and forth finger's go this picture should help."

"Once you no longer need the guide to remember where your finger goes, you can simply replace it on the backing and save it for later, or pass it on to another student."
"Make sure neck is clean before putting this own."
"I recently purchased an adhesive finger guide for my cello (my roommate wanted to learn to play). It was much more difficult to place, would have been difficult/impossible to reposition if I'd messed up the placement, and I'm worried that it will leave sticky residue on the fingerboard when I remove it."
"A bit late submitting a review as I've had this for over a year now."
"Does not stay wrapped, but adhesive tape fixed that just fine."
"This has really helped me find my finger placement on the violin."

"This is my first set of violin strings that I purchased and I wasn't exactly sure what to look for."
"Broke the D and E strings on my Cecilio 4/4."
"The Amo's work well on a more harsh sounding violin but after settling in they were too mello for my violin. The Preludes are great on my student violin and would probably be ok on my intermediate violin."
"These are the only strings I use on my violin."
"They are also quite durable, as this was my first time stringing my new violin, I found out quickly that they don't break easily!"
"Strings sound great."

Best Orchestral String Instrument Stands & Hangers

Ingles Adjustable Violin and Viola Stand
Worry-free, locking stands are ideal for home use, but also great for schools and gigs where safety is of primary concern. Fully adjustable stands fit all instrument sizes. Ideal for home use, but also great for schools and gigs where safety is of primary concern.
Reviews
"Pros: Solid construction, heavy enough and low enough center of gravity for stability, has a gate to contain the neck, easily collapsible for travel, shows off my strings proudly. The bracers at the bottom were a bit too curved and didn't accommodate my chin rest and shoulder rest causing my fiddle to sit crookedly, but once I straightened them out a teensy bit, the instrument was able to sit nicely."
"This is fantastic!"
"I had originally thought the advertisement about "wasting valuable practice time" was ridiculous, but now that my viola is in a convenient place where I can, literally, pick it up, play a song, and then run to work, it makes sense and practicing just happens!"
"I find this to be a nice clean sturdy holder for my violin and bow."
"Easy to set-up, and my daughter practices more often now that her violin is out in the open, rather than tucked away in its case."
"I've bought six for all my violins including my NS NXT5 five string which also fits these stands perfectly."
"But even with the bow in one hand, the other hand is still free to put the violin on the stand and then to close the retaining clasp."
"I love this stand - I have two of them now."

Reviews
"Tall with sloping shoulders and short neck but this is so adjustable, it is great for me."
"My teacher also suggested adding a piece of foam where the rest meets my collar bone if I am playing for any long periods of time."
"Straight out of the box just with some minor adjustments it already felt like it was holding evrything much more comfortable and secure leaving me free to play more relaxed why I can go and play tennis with a violin shooting out from my neck that comfortable anyway the rest and it's mechanisms can be intimidating so it will take a little time to get it adjusted perfectly do take your time."
"I love using this!"
"Very comfortable shoulder rest."
"This is a very good quality shoulder rest and also very comfortable, however it doesn't fit in my case, causing me to have to carry it around."
"very good shoulder rest it stays firmly on shoulder."
"I had issues with the cheap Chinese rest slipping and not staying adjusted. I also experienced a broken foot on the cheap rest while trying to tighten the nuts."

Double Bass Buggie "The Bass Wheel Alternative"
The Double Bass Buggie is the only way to move your Bass from place to place. Not a problem, just slap your bass in your gig bag and strap on the Bass Buggie, it's easy.
Reviews
"The other bass fits in a medium standard 3/4 size case."
"Anyone with an upright bass can tell you about stories of moving it around. I would highly recommend this to anyone who owns an upright bass!"
"It is so much easier for him to take it in and out of rehearsal and I feel much less terrified when I see him pulling it along versus trying to get through a doorway before."
"Carrying my vintage (1929) hand carved double bass around was challenging at times and this has made all the difference."
"I purchased the "Dblbass buggie®" after buying another product for far more money that did not perform. A double bass is heavy and if you have to carry it a distance to the gig, it becomes even heavier. Do NOT attempt to stand or leave the double bass on the dblbass buggie® unattended. The Buggie is made of light weight high impact plastic and used 5" wheels with bearings."
"It is exactly what I needed."
"The other day I had to move my bass over a gravel area."
"It works fine without the bass bag, but I had to rearrange the whole thing to make it work, with the bag."

Reviews
"Update: I was initially using a light colored rosin that came with my violin and I think was a cheap product and produced a lot of dust."
"I've been playing the violin for...gosh, over thirty years now, and my degree is in music ed. Bows, while admittedly a mixed lot, tend to be a "you get what you pay for" kind of thing, and a decent bow at this price range tends to be scarce as hen's teeth, as they say. I was pleased when I first pulled this bow from the box with its appearance--the black carbon fiber is very sharp-looking, especially with the clean fittings. The only negative I found with this bow was that it arrived with broken hairs--somewhere between 3 and 6 if memory serves. If the bow continues to lose hair, I'll adjust my review accordingly."
"He quickly assured me that the bow was a newer item that differed somewhat from the illustrations at Amazon, and to quell my concerns he offered to ship me the older model - because I wanted that design to distinguish it from my other CF bows. Well, he no longer had the originals but readily offered to send me, free of charge, an upgraded bow with a frog pattern of my choice. Both are light and well balanced, with the newer one a couple of grams lighter and more weighted towards the frog."
"The hair is Siberian Horse hair and since started playing I can hear a difference between my original bow and this one. One thing I noticed on this bow is the space between the frog and black wrap is not that big like my other bow."
