"The first thing I noticed with this bow is that it is lighter than my previous bow, but I found that to be a plus."
"i some times play with almost no tension on the bow which makes the hair rest on the rod, but i haven't seen any scratch, decolonization, etc."
"Attractive looking--one hardly notices the faux work (e.g., fleur-de-lis "inlay" is stamped, wire wrap is wire tape). For those who care, I measure weight at 70 grams and balance point at 249 mm (from frog excluding button)."
"While I would not use it to solo with an orchestra (non wood bows when used with older instruments just do not have the full color and volume palette I would need), it has been more than adequate for use on chamber concerts in fairly high profile situations."
"I have been comparing all of my bows, from the cheap to the expensive. I have a cheap bow, (going in the trash) which has a slightly raspy sound."
"Heavier than the cheapest bow I can get at the local store, and incrementaly better."
"I tend to just play with my viola bow on both instruments since venues are sometimes cramped, but my original bow that accompanied my instrument was bit heavy/clunky for some of the violin work."
"It's a great replacement bow for those who are looking for a bow in short notice."

"Update: I was initially using a light colored rosin that came with my violin and I think was a cheap product and produced a lot of dust."
"I've been playing the violin for...gosh, over thirty years now, and my degree is in music ed. Bows, while admittedly a mixed lot, tend to be a "you get what you pay for" kind of thing, and a decent bow at this price range tends to be scarce as hen's teeth, as they say. I was pleased when I first pulled this bow from the box with its appearance--the black carbon fiber is very sharp-looking, especially with the clean fittings. The only negative I found with this bow was that it arrived with broken hairs--somewhere between 3 and 6 if memory serves. If the bow continues to lose hair, I'll adjust my review accordingly."
"He quickly assured me that the bow was a newer item that differed somewhat from the illustrations at Amazon, and to quell my concerns he offered to ship me the older model - because I wanted that design to distinguish it from my other CF bows. Well, he no longer had the originals but readily offered to send me, free of charge, an upgraded bow with a frog pattern of my choice. Both are light and well balanced, with the newer one a couple of grams lighter and more weighted towards the frog."
"The hair is Siberian Horse hair and since started playing I can hear a difference between my original bow and this one. One thing I noticed on this bow is the space between the frog and black wrap is not that big like my other bow."

"I can compare it to my "student/starter" Brazilwood bow that came with my rental, and the only thing I can say is the makers of the brazil wood bow should be arrested for selling that as a cello bow. I am still very happy and can recommend this bow if you want an inexpensive bow to start with:"
"If you plan to play cello for quite some time, I recommend investing in a hybrid or carbon fiber bow that's at least in the 200~300 range."
"He says it is a very nice bow with a feel similar to expensive wood bows, so a good value for the money."
"This is a stellar bow."
"Nice Bow, I'm not the best Cello is just a hobby."
