"They are cheap and short and needs to be replaced if you want this vault to be really secure from burglary (check out my pics to see the screw provided its about 1/2" bite). Depending on where you are mounting it (night stand, computer desk, stud on the wall) the length of the screw you're going to use is going to vary obviously. Mine is currently mounted to the inside of my computer desk using 4 lag screws from Home Depot and one nut/bolt/washer combo (had to drill the hole on the plate myself). The only way a burglar is going to get access to that firearm is by breaking down the computer desk first, then taking the whole safe with him so he can pry it open later at his leisure. Another issue is the thumb screws provided (mounts the vault itself to the base plate), they are small as well and also a weak point."

The 2000 Biometric as a safe place for my every day carry weapon and the SV Manual to keep another gun close to my nightstand. As a result, I believe the biometric safe is entirely unsafe - any child, including my own grandkids, out of curiosity, could place their finger on the fingerprint reader, and if they we lucky enough to touch the other release button, could have access to the safe's content. So I removed the batteries to make sure I had installed them properly and I had. At this point, I started wondering if my new batteries were maybe bad or something. I was about to return it when all of a sudden for no reason it started working. The other reason I wouldn't rate it 5 stars is because the color temperature of the light is a cool blueish white. Newer LED lamps have a nice warm amber color to them, more like traditional halogen or incandescent lights did."
