"in them). ****************************************************************************************. *** The truth about actual label costs (Pictures will be attached to this review) ***. ****************************************************************************************. I printed out labels using a Brother P-Touch PT-2030 and the DYMO LabelManager 160 and these were the results of my findings: As of the time of this writing, the DYMO 1/2" D-1 label roll is selling for $14 and includes 23 feet (276 inches) of label. As of the time of this writing, the Brother 1/2" P-Touch label roll is selling for $11 and includes 26.2 feet (314 inches) of label. I printed two labels that had this text in 24pt BOLD "TEST-XX-01". The DYMO label that was printed including wasted space on both sides was 2.75" in length which would allow 100 labels to be printed on a $14 roll. *** $0.14 per label. The Brother label that was printed including wasted space on both sides was 4" in length which would allow 78 labels to be printed on the $11 roll. *** $0.14 per label. *** TIE ***. I printed two labels that had this text in 24pt BOLD "255.255.255.255". The DYMO label that was printed including wasted space on both sides was 3.375" (3 3/8") in length which would allow 81 labels on $14 roll. *** $0.17 per label. The Brother label that was printed including wasted space on both sides was 4.5" in length which would allow 69 labels on a $11 roll. *** $0.16 per label. *** BROTHER WINS ***. The DYMO would win with smaller labels, it seems that my first label tested is about the tie breaker in size. Bottom line: If you print SMALL labels, you will get more for your money using a DYMO label printer with less waste per label. If you print larger labels, you will get more for your money using a BROTHER label printer even though it waste more per label. The DYMO generally prints more labels per roll than the brother, even though there is less label per cart, however the Brother label is cheaper at this time."
"It's the perfect size. It prints super clear. It has a button for clip art designs and pictures! It can write multiple lines on a single strip! Just grab this and a 2 pack of 23 foot long rolls and you'll love the thing! The tape cutter is very smooth and comes out from the top instead of the sides like other label makers!"
"I love labeling things and was so happy to receive this label maker."
"This is the only new Dymo labeler I could find that used that same cartridge, so I bought it and it's actually pretty cool! And you print right from the computer!"
"It does the job, and as an added bonus, it's actually easy to peel the backing off. The labeler is fun to use and comes with a rechargeable battery."
"Why did no one mention it requires a power adapter sold separately (mentioned in a blip) or a bunch of AAA batteries?"

"My only complaint (and my reason for docking a star) is due to the waste of potential paper I could've used towards making additional labels (see picture)."
"Just found that it wouldn't print 5 lines on a 3/4"/18 mm tape--even with 6 point type; although, instructions say it can be done. Even at $50.00 on sale, with a software defect like that, it makes my old, user friendly, PT-1830 (with 5 label memories) look better. Unfortunately, due to the design of the Brother label cartridges, which contain three spools of the different layers of the tape, one always gets a blank piece chopped off when starting a label--including chain printing. Customer Service is located in the Dominican Republic and is open Mon-Fri 9 am to 9 pm EST. They couldn't figure out the problem, so I was told that another office in Tennessee would call back in 2-4 hours. A Customer Service supervisor called back & while I was waiting, she got the PT-D600 to compare with mine. Also, with the 600, one has to go through a selection of 15 choices of everything from "Font, Size, Width, Style, Line, Align, Frame, Symbol, Length, Cut Option, Tab Length, Bar Code, Time Stamp, Tab, & Save." For their next model, I suggested the wider/longer screen improvement, a larger and more user friendly Instruction Booklet, and longer Space bar to make typing easier."
"Love this product!"
"great label printer , truly outstanding ."
"I use the easy to use Computer program and I can easily setup different labels and colors to save and use as needed."
"This is one of my favorite office gadgets."
"They send you this starter tape though that's too wide for any real use."
"Super nice label maker."

"Major Gripe: Every label job wastes about 1 inch of tape before actually printing."
"I mostly want to make flag labels to help me more quickly identify the mass wires that support my electronics. I think you can do all that you need with this guy and you can save the extra cost to run a label program on the computer (like the upgraded models offer)."
"This label maker comes with an AC power adapter or it can run off of six AA batteries. It is quite a bit larger than my older label maker (7.44" x 6.99" x 2.78") but it is a comfortable size and easy to hold in my lap and use. It also comes with a 2 year limited warranty and a Customer Service phone number in the easy-to-read, easy-to-understand user's guide (which is printed in English and in Spanish)."
"This new model is completely updated although not much larger than the previous generation. It's wider and shorter, allowing larger keys and more dedicated buttons including arrow keys, punctuation, Tab, and dedicated buttons for Font, Label, Frame, Symbol, Sample Labels, and Bar Codes. It prints about 50% faster than my old model and accepts thinner (3.5mm) tape (up to a maximum of 18mm)."
"Wife has labeled all of her OXO containers in the pantry."

Best Office Labeling Tapes

Brother P-touch TZe2312PK 1/2 - inch Standard Laminated Tape, Black on White, 26.2 Feet (2-Pack)
Compatible with all Brother P-touch TZ Machines, this Two Tape Value Pack features black print on white tape. Brother TZe tape comes in a variety of colors and sizes.
Reviews
"I would advise to try the extra strength adhesive tape."
"Two tapes (each just out of the wrapper) in a row just stuck and pulled the ink layer into the label, ruining the carts."
"The TZe tapes are completely compatible and can be used in any P-Touch that requires TZ replacement tapes."
"I love my P-touch label maker."
"Not only was the outer package full retail, but the individual tape was sealed as well."
"Several different styles and size of type face and colors of labels."
"While this version of the printer tape has some tremendously helpful improvements versus previous Brother label types, it also has a terrible issue that negates all of the good things.....it TANGLES (much like cassette audio tapes used to tangle up as they wore out), most often just after it has printed out the first or second label of the cassette. Hopefully reviews like this on a major selling platform like Amazon might be picked up by the company.........and perhaps they will take note of the fact that they have made it difficult for consumers to contact them and make any kind of connection regarding their product."
"I just received these and haven't had a chance to use them, but I was very surprised to see that the labels I received where from China and not "P-Touch" labels at all."

Best Shredders

AmazonBasics 12-Sheet High-Security Micro-Cut Paper, CD, and Credit Card Shredder with Pullout Basket
Style: Shredder. 8 minute continuous run time with 45 minute cool down time; Auto start and manual reverse to clear paper jams.
Reviews
"I've shredded credit cards, CDs, and paper with this sucker and not one thing has jammed it. -transparencies. -laminated documents. -cardboard. -any items with adhesives. -hard materials or plastic (except credit cards and CDs). I admit to shredding windowed envelopes, continuous forms (like those credit card balance transfer checks), and ad mailers that have cards stuck to them with strips of adhesive. It's quiet. It shreds 12 sheets of paper, credit cards, and CDs as stated in the product description. It can run 8 minutes plus without overheating (it hasn't overheated on me yet). It hasn't jammed. The bin is a good size to not have to empty it frequently. The micro-cut is fabulous. It wheels around smoothly, no creaking or squeeking, and is easy to move around. Striker (the cat) loves the end results :)."
"PROS: - Micro-cut produces nearly 8X more particles than cross-cut. - Quiet for a shredder. - Pullout basket comes out and goes back in easily. - Large 6.7 gallon capacity bin. - Caster wheels for easy mobility. CONS: - Lacks secondary safety lock. - Blindingly-bright power LED. MICRO-CUT VS CROSS-CUT. The biggest advantage of the AmazonBasics over my old W-11C is the micro-cut feature. Here's a breakdown of the different cut types: strip cut: security level 2, 39 strips per 8.5" x 11" sheet. cross-cut: security level 3, 399 particles per 8.5" x 11" sheet. micro-cut: security level 4, 3,000 particles per 8.5" x 11" sheet. That's almost eight times the number of particles from cross-cut to micro-cut. It removes easily when you need to empty it and goes back in pretty smoothly as well. The three-position auto/off/reverse switch works well, but is the only way keep the shredder off, other than unplugging it. I always unplug the shredder when I'm not using it, but if you like to keep yours plugged in, just keep in mind that there's no additional lock."
"I can even shred that junk mail without opening it and stretching it out like I had to so my old shredder would not go 'hermitle' (think 'hermit crab retreating into its shell and glaring with its beady red eye (sic 'light')). The shred is also nice little 2 cm squares and do not fly around/grab onto/annoy me like the slips of paper from my old cross-cut shredder (those suckers would stick to everything and were able to achieve flight from me just breathing near them)."
