Find Best Price at Amazon"Cutting paper: I don't cut paper very often, but I'd say 3 or 4 sheets of standard copy paper will cut nicely, and just 1 or 2 pieces of card stock at a time, depending on weight. This has a shallow blade, so if you're cutting lots of paper and need to cut thick stacks, this cutter is not for you. What I cut: I use my cutter to cut sheets of vinyl decals, which are pretty thick. This cutter can handle 2 of my decal sheets, but I like precise cuts and the sheets slide against each other easily, so I just cut one at a time. I have my decal sheets printed with cut guides, which allows me to line up my cuts quickly. Blades. I'm often cutting hundreds of vinyl decal sheets at a time, so my blades dull quickly. The wire is good for eye-balling cuts, but it moves a bit while you're cutting, so don't rely on it for lining up 100% straight and precise cuts."

"I checked the grid against two separate transparent rulers, if I line up at the top, they get progressively off-center going down, so the lines on this do "drift" slightly from accurate, but I'd guesstimate it at <1%, so probably good enough for many uses in the size range this cutter is capable of. If you try to make an angled cut, the paper gets in the way of closing the ruler, so you either have to squish and wrinkle the paper or make a smaller section. If you want to cut a 45 degree isosceles triangle, the largest you can make has ~2 inch sides before your run into the ruler. (If you want to avoid the ridge that is there to help with paper alignment... you can't.). Alternatively, you can measure up from the bottom of the page using the ruler (including the pull out part, see above.). I was unable to fully cut a page while using the ridge guides along the same side as the second blade. Part of me wants to send this back because the description did not make it clear and there will be times I'd want the imperial along the direction of the cut or for my grid."

"Cons: The biggest, and the reason for my low rating, is that the handle/blade/grid are not properly aligned. Also, the latch that is supposed to hold the handle down rarely secures it for more than a few minutes. Finally, you must hold the paper down close to the guard bar or you'll get slippage toward an incorrect cut. It's sad because this one still cuts but the hassle of never having even pages without a few extra steps is more than I want to deal with right now."
