If this item had just been made an inch larger in all three dimensions via Styrofoam pads on all sides and the cardboard box outside of that, there would have been no issues. Some of the edges had no cardboard at all, torn away and taped over, leaving the wood to scrape against whatever the shipper struck it against -- and again, that was BEFORE they shipped it out! As a result, only after I assembled it to my table did I discover that one of the circumferential pieces has a split where the tongues of the slats poke into it.That lets the piece droop a little. I hope I can fix it well enough with glue -- I have no choice now due to our needing to use it."
