If you plan on using this pump for the smaller Intex pools with the smaller diameter hoses... you'll need to buy "Hose Conversion Adapter Kit for Intex 1500gph and 2500gph pumps" that is sold here on Amazon. I used those to support the hoses coming out of the pool by strapping around the top rails then going under and around the hose so it can't droop. The filter you want is: Unicel C-5315 Replacement Filter Cartridge for 15 Square Foot Intex B Filter. Anyone with a 15 foot round pool from Intex that lives in the south and is having trouble keeping the pool clean... this 2500gph pump is your answer."
"So I will get my first review I have not used the filter yet it said it was used in good condition and it came looking like it was brand new and very very well packaged and came one day early it came with the hoses in perfect condition and I was about to order the Intex Outlet part that you hook into the pool to shoot the water back into the pool from the filter keep in mind I have a one and a quarter inch piping which was causing me some problems of how I was going to install it then I opened one box that I did not notice was in there to find out that problem is no longer an issue because it came with the outtake part that hooks into the pool and into the hose without having to do any adapters changing it from a quarter inch to a one and a half inch piping plus this way it can pump a lot more water because when you use adapters you lose water flow the only adapter I will need is just to hook it into the exterior filter that is built on to the side of the pool which is very very easy to do so so far I am happy I will update my review Once I install it this weekend."

Since Amazon aggregates reviews for similar products together, I want to be clear: this review is for the Intex Krystal Clear Sand Filter Pump (for above ground pools), with a 3,000 GPH (11.3 m3/hr) pump flow rate. Without a doubt, this filter pump is several order of magnitudes better than the cartridge filter which came with the pool. Intex should just stop selling those cartridge filter pumps and include sand filter pumps with their large swimming pools. Once the pump was in place, I made sure the inlet and outlet hoses (from/to the pool) would reach the filter pump and then filled the filter pump with sand. Note: The instructions clearly warn against installing the filter pump inside of a shed or otherwise restrict airflow around the pump. When I initially setup the pump, with the pool water still green with algae from wintertime storage, the filter pump ran at about 10 to 12 PSI and I made a point to backflush it about twice a week for the first month. The owner’s manual recommends the filter pump be run for four hours per day, based upon the size of my swimming pool. I have been running the filter pump for six hours a day, from about 0600 to 1200 hours, in order to get the pool established for the season and to get the bottom of the pool as clean as possible. Since I have gravel immediately near the filter pump, I do not have a back flushing hose connected to the filter pump. Even though the owner’s manual states it will take about two minutes to thoroughly back flush the filter pump, I have never run it more than one minute before the water runs clear."
"Get this pump here on Amazon, but get any and all adapters, hoses, plunger valves, etc, directly from intex.com. Purchase plunger valves to adapt the filter 1 1/2" ID hoses to the 1 1/4" hook ups of the 15' pool. I like the plunger valves because you can isolate the pump without wasting pool water, but you do not have to have them to set up this pump. I also used the original 1 1/4" 'T' adapter and purchased two extra 1 /1/4 hoses (from intex) to split the outlet on the filter....one side going to the the pool for the recirculation and one going to the water feature/sprayer that I put up."
