Plug in the heat mat (weed tends to like warm root zones), and put the humidity dome on. You NEVER have to touch the seed again or the roots, so you never accidentally damage anything in the transplant, which is a risk people take using the paper towel method. If you're growing good strains, the last thing you need is to damage the plant at the start of its life cycle. Take out how many plugs you need, ziplock the bag shut, then stick it in a tupperware and they'll stay moist."

My plan, when mother is done growing out her basil, is to empty the pods and refill them with Rockwool or some other seed starter, and drop a few seeds of lemon balm, thyme, or chives and see how well the system works then."
"The light has proper intensity and is adjustable to climb with the plants... to an extent, after which you have to cut back the plants from reaching the light. The light is supposed to blink when the water level needs to be topped off, but I haven't tested that feature, so I can't make a judgement on its effectiveness. They also state that the unit has "Specialized Sensors", and that they are In-unit sensors designed constantly monitor garden vitals attend to plants’ need for light, water, and nutrients. They like to use the phrase "Smart Soil" for their potting mix, as if it is some kind of special concoction that only they can make. Any good gardener can make a non-soil potting mix every much as good as what they are putting together. So you grow three basil plants that are not designed to be transplanted, and you'll end up either tossing a lot of leaves, or living on spaghetti! They even sell an "experimental" set of capsules with nothing but their "smart soil", and no seed, so you can plant a seed of your choice. The same $19.95 for three...and in order to transplant ANY of the plants in these capsules, you have to destroy the capsule itself, so you're out another 20 bucks for three more capsules, with or without plants. I've posted my rant, but to be fair, I am a very experienced gardener, and have long experience in germination all kinds of plants from seed, and with different soil and seeding mixes... so I have a hard time with recommending this product that, like computer printers, will be emptying your wallet on a continual basis...the plants being the equivalent of printer cartridges. Just enough to pep up a salad here and there, and enjoy watching a few plants grow up to about half a foot, this is a nice little conversation starter....but if you really want to grow sustainable and healthy fruits and veggies, and you still need to do it on a smaller basis, I'd use full size pots, or grow bags, and just go to YouTube, or Google, and look up soil-less growing mixes, and do it yourself. The rewards in both planting and harvesting the fruits of your labor and much more intense than simply automating. Recommended only as a hobby, decorative, or VERY limited space growing."

My 6 year old daughter runs over to the garden every morning and night after school to check on the plants, it is fun to see how quickly they grow! My municipal water only allows watering on 3 days of the week depending on your street address, astrological sign, and great grandmother's maiden name (the one you liked). Even though the flexible daily or flexible monthly schedule may be the most effective for water savings and ensuring watering is only when needed, limiting to 3 days a week still gives the Iro opportunity to skip and change watering duration based on weather data and seasonal impacts. Both the shocking nature of seeing how many gallons are really used when you are watering, and the gratification of how much you are saving when the Iro skips, easily justifies the purchase of this controller. Other features that seem to just make sense are the cycle approach to watering and the newly added manual controls on the Rachio Iro. When watering, your Iro will break a 15-minute watering session into multiples - so instead of watering a zone for 15 minutes, it will water it for 5 minutes, go to the next zone, finish all zones, then start another cycle that will water the zone another 5 minutes... going through all zones... finally completing a 3rd cycle to finish. To insure not getting my hand broken, I have to hold it loosely at completion, resulting in a swing akin to throwing the ax into the wood. I bought the Macwagon to haul my fishing stuff down the trails, and to ferry groceries when I walk to the store. When I launch the boat, I either run it back to the truck or leave it chained to a tree or other heavy object with a bike lock. The wheels are big enough that going up over large rocks and curbs is not a problem, and the bars on the front and back make it easy to lift over taller obstacles. If you distribute the load properly, help it over obstacles by lifting it by the front or rear bar and take it easy going over gravel and rocks it will be fine."

It's a very spacious area that can hold a good amount of weight.. but when dealing with hills, stairs or trying to stand it up (when folded) make it much trickier. The wagon itself folds very compact but weighs about 25LBs.. unfortunately it's hard to store any way but laying-down when packaged (leaning it against anything, because of the wheels, tends to have it fall over). A few other things: There are 2 small mesh holders on the front of the wagon (where the handle is).. great for holding a coulple drinks or smaller items."
