I priced all the items I would need to make the food myself and found Honest Kitchen's food was cheaper. My 40lb dog gets a 1/2 cup (8oz) of food and my two 10lb dogs get 1/8 cup (2Tbsp/2oz). This makes the food form better and also smell better to the dogs, thus becoming more appetizing. The amount of water I put in is 50% more than the dry food, so 3/4 cup (12oz) for the larger dog and 3/8 cup (3Tbsp/3oz) for the little ones."
""Oh, gee thanks for the delicious meal you lovingly cooked for us mom and dad, it smells SOOO divine and I can't wait to dig in! This zeal carried on for about a week, but each night you could tell that their $100 steak dinner was quickly becoming a $30 trip to Chili's, and eventually, the dollar menu at Taco Bell. It ain’t cheap, but it's supposedly much healthier for them, though I haven't performed independent laboratory tests to back that statement up. The only real downside to this product in my opinion, is the preparation, and you have to take that with a grain of salt, because I'm admittedly a lazy person. In the time it takes us to warm the water for your gruel and stir it to the proper consistency, we could have put two scoops of dry food in your bowls, and been back on the couch watching Dancing with the Stars. Finally, if your dog eats crunchy treats out of the cat box and you really don't care, you should probably just go buy some Old Roy."

"I rescued her when she was 3 and she came to our family with many health issues including untreated Addison's disease, recurring urinary tract infections, infected paws, excessive drinking, weeping eyes, etc. Then it was recalled and I discovered that many dog foods were made in the same plants and could therefore be contaminated even if they had high quality ingredients.
