However even after running the clipper for 10-15 minutes at a time I did not find that the blade became overly hot. And not dropping it is a challenge, because even though it feels comfortable in the hand you will be constantly manipulating and re-arranging it and your pet and there are many many chances for it to be dropped."

"Well, I have a long-haired dog with a coarse coat that sheds year-round, and taking him to a groomer for a basic trim was going to cost to the tune of $50 on a regular basis. It comes with an instructional DVD and sheet, four guide combs to control the length of the cut, one clipper with a roughly 6' cord and velcro strap to bind it, a blade guard, oil for the blades and a brush to apply, touch-up scissors and a comb. A little caution is required to avoid nicking the dog's skin, but it's not difficult to use and the scissors are sharp and easy to handle. The clippers are not especially loud but don't expect whisper-quiet operation, either--you will probably need to spend some time getting your dog used to them if you don't want them biting down on them or getting twitchy during grooming."
