"I've used Quicken since its early DOS versions and I am a true supporter of the product. The major change, forcing Home and Business users into the Home/Business/Rental property product is probably pointless for most, unless it is someone renting many properties or units."
"Whilst I am a Quicken user for 25 years plus, I am not in favour of the Rental Property merging with QH&B since there is minimal rental included in the minuscule business that I do."
"I've been using Quicken for years and this works as expected."
"There is no other system more sophisticated or as easy to use!"
"I run Windows 7, arguably the most stable OS MS ever produced, and a Dell Latitude i5 laptop that is rock solid. They try to get you to "Link" accounts online but it doesn't work and if tried you will find that it takes minutes to update. I'm trying to use the Manual bill pay method that they put back in as an afterthought. If it runs into an error on downloading account info, you cannot fix it without crashing the program. Manually accessing the same account web site shows no issues with logging in. It is a shame that Quicken is the only program out there that allows money management to the degree it was designed to. So we are stuck with a buggy program that hasn't improved even though Quicken separated from Intuit. If I could find a program, in the cloud or desktop that does bill pay, interfaces with my online bank, brokerage and credit card accounts and reliably reports on all, I would change in a heartbeat. FYI the only reason I bought this "subscription" is because I was using Q2015 and Quicken stops supporting their programs after three years. Other reviewers that have granted 4 and 5 stars to this program must be Quicken employees or simply don't use it or rely on it heavily like I do. I haven't tried the rental property module yet but plan on doing so before tax filing time. I was bound to Bank of America, a company I have an attitude about, because they had Direct Connect to Quicken. With Mint you can connect and draw on any checking account at any bank to pay any bill. If Q2018 decides that it can't connect to a previously working account, there is NO WAY to fix it. So I linked it to my dead credit card account and sure enough, Q2018 duplicated 1226 transactions. Now when I download account info, it puts in {[] square brackets in the category field. Even bills paid through Quicken 2018 with proper catefories assigned, are changed when updated by a bank download."
"Unlike a word processing piece of software where you create a document and then move on - your data and this piece of software become 'one'."
"On One Step Update program has a consistent problem causing me to reset Amazon CC account with text code verification every day. We use a powerful (2017) Dell desktop computer with an i5-4570 3.2GHz - 256GB SSD and 8 GB ram with a 1 terabit personal backup so no problem there."

"I upgraded my file from Quicken 2017. * May have been some new minor bugs introduced (one of my scheduled payments posted twice, and I still have no idea why -- this could be an issue on my end, though.. hasn't bothered me enough to call support, just yet). Other thoughts: I am torn on the new subscription model.. me personally, I upgraded every year, but the system used to let folks go for 3 years without thinking too much about upgrading.. if you used to upgrade every OTHER year or longer, then this new paradigm screws you over, as what you pay is the same as if you upgraded yearly. For most folks Quicken is cheaper in the long run, and you don't have to wait for an email or callback to figure out if you can afford that tablet payment or that cruise next year, or even just that new pair of jeans. Overall, I'd hoped for more improvement since Intuit divested Quicken, ostensibly allowing dev teams to focus on making the product better and more up-to-date. I'm supporting the new model, for now, because Quicken is still the best at meeting my wants for personal finance software. There are so many cheaper or "free" options, now, that I imagine the market for this software will continue to diminish, and in my opinion, if Quicken doesn't bring the improvements faster to become more modern and relevant, it'll eventually die on the vine."
"Each time I upgrade, a lot of my historical transactions don't come through or are messed up when they come through and so I just have to delete that account and start from scratch. 2) Quicken has moved to a subscription service so you'll be paying the upgrade fee every year whether you like it or not."
"I have now spoken to 3 to 4 people from customer service from the Quicken Bill Pay department who are adamant it's a software issue and that they can't help me (AND they can't transfer me, or interact with the technical side of their company). I just tried customer service chat and they say it's a Bill Pay issue. Instead, I've spent more than 6 hours on the phone between hold times and lies and all they say is "Sorry Sir but there's nothing we can do, you need to call...." As much as I want to love this product, it's been nothing but a nightmare since purchasing."
"They have effectively tripled the price by charging about the same for a annual subscription as they did to buy the product in past."

"Now for Quicken 2018, linked online billers to reminders go back to not working. Whatever Quicken gets from the online biller site overrides the value on the reminder, meaning a zero value due makes the reminder zero."
"The transaction download function, which worked fine on my prior version, is an unmitigated disaster."
"Over the years Quicken assisted me in establishing and keeping to a budget and plan for upcoming expenses as well as retirement. I was very pleased with the product, felt it was a good value, and always highly recommended it. There is no budgeting to speak of, but I have a good sense of my spending after watching years of fine detail. There is no facility to split transactions, and no way to keep track of cash expenses (but I can do that on a spread-sheet)."
"There is an entire Quicken user community that exists to help people figure out how to fix problems with their accounts on quicken. Quicken will just blast out an update that will break everyone's software and everyone will have dysfunctional software until the patch gets pushed. I see this as Quicken taking the Microsoft approach to software development - "Send out any old thing and let the user community let us know what we screwed up on. Bottom line - the combination of the new subscription service and the fact that updates have never resulted in a smooth transition, except for those who choose not to implement the updates until after bugs have been worked out, make Quicken 2018 and beyond NOT worth the purchase."
"Not only did they make you start paying a yearly subscription, but they made it practically unusable due to its constant crashing!"
"Today I tried to import a new account with hundreds of trades and it shows a zero balance while forcing me to accept each individual transaction that it has downloaded."

Quicken 2004 Deluxe [Old Version]
CD only - Great Deal!
Reviews
"Couldn't locate my original disk when I bought a new PC."
"The only reason I upgraded is that Quicken will stop supporting account downloads for my 2001 version this year, and I was able to get a copy of this 2004 version from a seller on Amazon for about $10. Upgrading to an older version (2004 in this case) costs much less and allows you to continue downloading for a few more years."
"I purchased this even though I already had Quicken 2005 Deluxe because the 2004 version was the last one to support import of QIF files into the various accounts."
"I bought this for a friend & it installed on their old computer windows 98 & works without any problems."
"Other than Intuit intentionally crippling online updates after three years, it still works well."
"I have used Quicken for almost 20 years and this upgrade was both smooth and easy."
"Could not find the original disk to install on a new computer."
"The worst part of the program is the investment account data entry. This is a one thing at a time brain-dead user interface."
