"If I anticipated checking my rifle on an airline, I'd most likely opt for the Pelican (Storm Case) for the "ultimate" protection. But short of that, this case is as heavy duty for all intended purposes as I could imagine. Foam replacements are available from Plano Molding Co., should the need arise to reconfigure the case for different equipment. So rather than file a claim with Amazon, and the expense and the wait of getting a new replacement, I contacted Plano via email, and asked if "SuperGlue" was an appropriate measure to fix it. And I suppose USPS gets a grade less than what one would expect, but then again, FedEx and UPS have issues as well with packages larger than standard."
