Best Golf Towels
When it stops cooling, simply re-wet it in hot or cold water and wring it out, within minutes, it's cool again. Since the Chilly Pad, Dana, and Sport material is loaded with water when in use, placing it in the freezer (following use) will cause it to freeze and become brittle. However, placing the towel in a Ziploc bag or polybag and placing it in the refrigerator is no problem... and will help the towel remain damp, in preparation for its next use. (but like all towels, be sure to wash the towel before storing). No problem....Simply Rewet the towel (Preferably in warm or hot Water) and wring out the excess water once the towel is completely wet. (It will then be ready for use again) In the event that the towel has been dry or in storage for a long period of time, (and has become hard) simply toss it in the Washing machine on a ""Hot"" water setting... and wash it like you would a T-Shirt. If the towel is washed, stored and cared for properly, it will continue to evaporate and cool (when wet) for several years. Provides hours of cooling relief while enduring outdoor heat.

If you put them over a towel rack, it will dry hard, folded in the shape it took over the towel rack. If you fold it wet to put away, so it will dry folded, we found out the hard way that you're going to get mold."

The Amazon reviews are favorable but seem to be written primarily by people who received a free sample. I researched other sources and found a consumer report review of a couple similar products, though not this particular brand. The review of those products were discouraging, reporting that their infared camera recorded identical temperature readings with a standard wet cotton towel. Interestingly, our luggage was delayed so we were without our Chill Pals for the initial three days. The initial days were unbearable and exhausting, and we were unable to enjoy the tour activities. In constant direct sunlight, 98 degree temp, the towel began to stiffen after a few hours. The towels arrive damp but they are so because they've been soaked in a preservative solution, which is washed out with the recommended initial pre-washes. I was nervous about how to transport the towels home since they no longer have the preservative and so mold if stored not completely dry. I hung all towels up on pants hangers outdoors in direct sunlight and surprisingly, they dried completely after just 3-4 hours."
