"Should I need quick access, the safe may not open, or it may cause items to fall - which will make noise - letting the intruder know where I am, and that I'm awake. After receiving a number of questions from prospective customers about whether this unit can be wall mounted, I started to research others' answers. I can easily, silently, and in complete darkness, open the safe, put my dominant hand on the grip, and tug it free from the magnet in <2 seconds. It makes sense, especially if the RFID chip is permanently in the possession of the gun owner (i.e. wristband or ring). The cost (>$300) was a bit extreme, but I contemplated it based on the novel idea, and the seemingly ultimate level of childproofing. Every phone, laptop, or other device with scanners (i.e. lockers at theme parks) all seemed too inaccurate, or took too long to verify and unlock. While I don't want to reveal what I determined, I can say that it is not only possible, but actually quite simple to access the latch mechanism and manually cause it to release - without ANY damage to the safe. Thus, waiting for a replacement key (which takes 3-5 days after submitting the notarized forms) simple wasn't an option. In fact, I've unlocked it at least a couple dozen more times getting my wife's fingers scanned and testing."

"I added a piece of soft side Velcro onto the mounting surface to protect my gun's finish and so that it doesn't smack hard into the magnets when mounting. I haven't driven with a gun mounted yet but I can tell that it'll hold well and the gun won't spin. To keep the gun mounted stable, it appears I'll have to attach it to the magnets right in the center of the gun for proper weight distribution."

"They are cheap and short and needs to be replaced if you want this vault to be really secure from burglary (check out my pics to see the screw provided its about 1/2" bite). Depending on where you are mounting it (night stand, computer desk, stud on the wall) the length of the screw you're going to use is going to vary obviously. Mine is currently mounted to the inside of my computer desk using 4 lag screws from Home Depot and one nut/bolt/washer combo (had to drill the hole on the plate myself). The only way a burglar is going to get access to that firearm is by breaking down the computer desk first, then taking the whole safe with him so he can pry it open later at his leisure. Another issue is the thumb screws provided (mounts the vault itself to the base plate), they are small as well and also a weak point."

If you wear tight pants or jeans (like I am in my picture) you'll have to wear the band higher up on your belly because if your pants overlap the end of your pistol then that pushes the top outward and then you have something sticking out under your shirt. So I found that not wearing the band halfway under my pants (like in the product picture) works better for me."
