I would venture a guess that these are popular with guys who are a bit self conscious, and want to wear baggy clothes, or those who don't have the most serious practice, or they are pretty tall. Again, I'm average height (5'10"), so having the pant legs drag on the ground, actually enough for me to be STANDING on an INCH of material is a bit ridiculous."
