I look at it as a positive as the lights will work properly immediately after installing the batteries. The LED's are nice and bright and the fact that you get 3 shorter lightbars in the box (as opposed to one large one) helps to make things a bit more customizable. It seems to sense a combination of the light and the motion, so it will turn on when the closet door opens and will stay on as long as you're moving in front of it. They are bright and come with an easy way to mount them to your closet (the double stick tape)."

Cheap connectors are notoriously unreliable, form weak and finicky connections, and often only start creating problems a week or two AFTER you've secured the lights, sealed up the connections with electrician's tape, and have your project cleaned and finalized. Then, you're back tearing apart tape, moving furniture, and putting in a new connector hoping it works this time around. It won't look as clean as cutting the strip, connecting and placing at a 90 degree angle, but it will function as you intended."
